My SA just told me that it will be harder to get QB’s in 2025. Maybe he meant harder for me, but it seemed like in general it would be harder or that they may be receiving less from Paris. To stay on topic, IMO I do not see prespend being reduced as a result of duplicates.

I think it will become harder every year until people stop flooding the market with prespend items. Once people realize that most prespend items are not easy to move and it is best to go resale if your main objective is to have a large collection of iconic bags and a few items here and there, then I think shopping might normalize as it was prior to COVID. The other day I was at a store and a woman approached me and asked if I liked the jewelry because I had a few rings on my hands. Then she mentioned she loves Cartier and VCA and run out of products to buy at H, so she would start buying jewelry. I’ve been hearing often “I don’t know what else to buy” from different people.

I think it will be harder for a lot of clients, especially newer clients. I am a long term client and for several years, the store has prioritized newer clients. I can sense a definite shift in the past year particularly in the last few months. I think reliable long-term clients will be the 2025 priority, which is the same strategy Hermes used in the 2008 financial crisis.

I also think that at some point you reach a reasonable limit of shoes/scarves/blankets you actually need hence start questioning if the next purchase makes sense. Hermes makes some really nice pieces, but unless I own a maison, do I really need 10 blankets ? How often would I wear one more cahsmere sweater from H? To me this is also about responsible consumption.

I think it is also because it is not a fashion house. Unless you are a RTW client, I think it arrives a point when it becomes hard to keep up for a lot of people. I like the same few pairs of shoes and buy different colors of those, same for scarves etc.

There was an article that they would consider Haute Couture, but how can anyone compete with the likes of Dolce & Gabbana, McQueen etc.

I know they agreed with an agency to start dressing their celebrities for the award shows, let’s see how that goes.

I hear that from friends all the time. I do not know what to tell them. I love and wear the clothes so nowhere near running out. RTW changes enough and there are enough unique items each season. Maybe money will run out but not my wants. Haha

If I were Hermes, that would be the last thing I would do. The market is being flooded with fakes so to fight it, I would flood the market with the real ones? Doesn’t make sense. I see them raising spend if anything.

That’s what I worry about too. Would I love for them to get rid of prespend? Hell yes! But I don’t think they ever will lollll

I don’t have any friends that like the RTW. My husband likes some pieces for him, but for me he is a fan of Dolce, McQueen etc. I do like H RTW, but barely anything fits me. I was happy I found some coats and a dress at the sale. I really wanted all long dresses, but I couldn’t find any in my size. Two stores told me they ordered what I like for next season, so let’s see if I find a long dress.

I agree that you only need so many bla quests or plates or glasses. But I love it all… I love there RTW I love there seasonal shoes I love there SLG I love some trinquets which are a total waste of money but oh so pretty to have I love there winter scarfs, there ties, the belts …

I agree that if you buy things only to add to your pre spend it is probably better to go the reseller route…

For me it is more difficult to choose and to stay in my budget… my SA knows my budget btw… he knows what I feel confortable spending each season and I want him to make me a selection and propose me things … sometimes he goes over my budget… that is his job after all.

Bag offers are a natural thing… I love the bags … but I don’t buy only for the bags…
I love in Europe so on wishlist … but your wish is only valid for one year…. Grating your wishlist item is not automatic… your relationship and spend counts towards a granted wishlist item.

If you have bought everything you like at hermes… and are not found of there RTW I am afraid reseller route is better … it seems absurd to buy stuff you don’t want or appreciate just to build pre spend for a hypothetical bag which may not even be in your exact specs you want.

I am back for more counseling. Spoke with my wonderful SA a few weeks ago and she said a bag would be coming for me. She tried for the end of 2024 but it wasn’t possible. I have been shopping with Hermes for a year now and am at 1.5x spend. We get along great - she is very nice.
Our last conversation a few days ago, we spoke some more and she said I would get a bag in 2025. She didn’t mention when- like is it 1 month? 12 months? IDK and I didn’t want to be too pushy because it doesn’t sound like their timing is set. I also asked if it would even be possible to hit 2 QB in 2025 and she said it would be quite difficult because of the number of people that want bags. Le sigh.
So we also chatted about what I wanted. We decided on a B and she indicated that it would be easier for me to secure a B25 over a B30 and that it would be a neutral color.
IDK why I am posting- just sharing my journey and trying to be patient with this process honestly. Waiting for my first bag is killing me!

I’ve been where you’re at! It’s all part of the game. I will say mine was at 2 years wait, but I had a non-quota and Kelly wallet to go during the wait. You’ll definitely get your bag and hopefully soon!

The fact that she’s confirmed your wish and preferences is a good sign, but I would recommend not bringing up or asking about 2 bags for 2025 before you get your first one as that will just add more pressure to your SA. Don’t stress too much! End of the year is very challenging for SAs. She or the store may have had clients who were waiting longer or have spent more pushing to get their bags. The fact that she’s confirmed your wish and preferences is a good sign, but I would recommend not bringing up or asking about 2 bags for 2025 before you get your first one as that will just add more pressure to your SA.
