Spend threshold for B/K/C

I believe it actually only shows for two years (USA). If you have a long hiatus, they'll remember you and your legacy will help you but there's also a good deal of "what have you done for me lately" and with new customers and ever increasing demand, it'll likely be a big hill to reclimb. (Its impossible to answer the "does prespend expire" question because prespend isn't a gating metric, its a metric of your current competitiveness vs other clients. So as your spend ages, it is less competitive with the spend that current clients have made recently.)
Makes sense. How long is a long hiatus? You are 100 percent correct the vibe right now from the stores are what have you done for me lately (ie how much and how often do you spend) and client demand is softening in my store but still high.

Does pre spend ever expire? I am a long time client with a high pre spend but for health reasons and not having much time, have not shopped in several months and probably won’t for several more. I assume my SA won’t put me up for bags unless I come in regularly but once I start shopping does the spend still count? I was told it shows for four years on a profile but how it works in practice is another story. My SA values frequent in person shopping.
I was on hiatus for more than two years. I stopped shopping towards the end of 2021 and started again in mid-2024. My SA saw my account and mentioned, 'Oh, you stopped shopping in 2021.' From my experience, it wasn't hard to pick it up again. I felt like she was more appreciative that I remembered her and came back.

(During those two years, I didn't shop at any other Hermes stores.)

I do not know the specific answer to your question but I hope your health issues get resolved and maybe let your SA know that and check in via text with happy holidays etc?

I am writing to you as someone who has been struggling with health issues too and has not been able to shop for three years. And I embrace you wholeheartedly. ❤️

Depending on your closeness with Sa, I suggest writing an email or text summarizing your situation to her/him. I can't say anything about the present, as it is a topic I am unfamiliar with, but if you express the importance of H to you, even if your expense is not counted, your heart will be. 🙏🏻💚🍀

I have a question where the answer does not really have an impact on anything other than satisfying my curiosity, but I was wondering if deposits in the US (SO watches, SO shoes, etc.) count as pre-spend when the deposit is made, or if the purchase only counts once the full payment has been made?

I really don't think there are such strict definitions of pre-spend, but I personally still like to track where I am on a spend basis for fun

Doesn't count until the item comes in and is paid in full. Until that point, one can theoretically cancel their deposit and insist on having the money returned so they dont count it until it is fully "locked in". However, it will look nice on your profile and be a helpful line item under consideration.

I was on hiatus for many years. My first SA left and shopping at H was no longer fun. I dropped off TPF, and for that decade I spent my time buying fun vintage resale Hermes and other things. I resumed boutique and TPF around covid SIP mainly out of boredom lol. People can stop and come back. It happens all the time  But, I didn’t start back up to look for bags. I was mainly interested in home ware, so my spend was home ware, then RTW with a slow reversal.

Hi Hermes lovers ! I have a question about the second quota bag ? Is it much easier or much more difficult? I put up my 2nd wishlist. I know it is kinda early , and I don’t want to sound greedy lol but I would like a 2nd quota bag before the year ends. My present is at 4k now…….. I met with SA yesterday ,and I didn’t want to bug him with this , but next time when I do drop that big cash, I’m going to be brave and bring it up …. Do you guys agree or not ?!

of course talk to your SA, but your prespend sounds low IMO. There is probably a figure that will manifest QB #2, but it probably varies significantly depending on one’s tenure; location; circumstance; whether other longer standing, higher spending clients have spent more and are still waiting; and, of course what one is asking for.

When did you receive the first bag? If it was recently you’re probably a bit ahead of things if you’re not a VIP or there aren’t other special circumstances (not involving the personal milestones that many people try to exploit).

All of the many recent posts responding to this question and its variants seem to suggest that Hermes is making an effort to prioritize clients in good standing who’ve not received their first bag. It certainly seems to be the view of many, many longtime clients, and based on my own experience I concur. It’s really a pleasure to read the ‘latest purchases’ thread when the joy in that first bag is so palpable.

As to whether in your SA’s view you’re ’ready’ for your next bag, @880 ‘s post above has laid out the factors that might go into making that assessment. Personally, I would make my own determination on those metrics before discussing it with my SA, if only to avoid a conversation in which the implications are so transactional. I certainly wouldn’t want to hear ‘you haven’t spent enough’ in whatever flowery language it was expressed; I already know I’m not a VIP. I would rather just mosey along at my own pace until I felt that quite a few of those factors would fall my way. Depending on the bag I wanted, and how impatient I was, I’d also consider looking at resale options. But as is often expressed, YMMV. :flowers:

I recently scored my first QB in April. I’m no VIP member lol I started my journey back in 2022 .

I feel like most stores are telling customers that barring exceptional circumstances (ie HEAVY spending), a second quota bag in the same calendar year is highly unlikely, especially for sizes 25 and smaller.

I’m looking to purchase B30 in any pastel pink colors . I really not interested in any smaller bags from Hermes ! I’m gearing up to drop/spend heavy cash in fall time .

Since rose Sakura is back this season I think you should let your wish be known sooner rather than later. Just let your sa know that you know it’s early to talk about a new qb but since you know pastel pink doesn’t come around often, you want to make sure she knows that’s smth you’re interested in.

I think it’s best to expect only one qb the first year but sometimes you may be pleasantly surprised. My SA told me it was one a year as well initially but she ended up getting me another offer towards the end of the year.

That’s so awesome and congrats on your end of the year quota bag ! I will definitely let my SA know when my purchase order arrives at the boutique to be picked up this week .
