Spend threshold for B/K/C

Hi all,

I’m at about a 1:1 spend for a B30 and my SA has already indicated he is actively working on getting me one. This would be my first QB as I started shopping this year only. I’m pretty consistent going in once a month and spending $1-2K each visit. For context, I shop at the WS location in NYC.

After I get this B30, I’m really only interested in a MK in terms of bags. If I continue my current pace of $1-2K / month, is there a chance I could still get a MK, say, within 2 years? Or is my spend too low per visit?

Any insight would be appreciated!
While most seem to spend more to get a MKII, it also depends on one’s relationship with an SA. I would talk to her about whether one is feasible if you are patient. It’s not necessary to bring up your spend; she knows it already

Note: if your SA has a lot of high spending clients who already have a ton of bags, it’s my theory that they can sometimes help out a smaller client. (Or at least that is how it seemed to me when I was starting out)
I also like to think slow and steady works too :flowers:

ETA: my first SA was WS, and I tend to think the SAs there are very supportive of their clients. I would keep in mind, that the final decision is up to the SM, and the SA can only offer what she is authorized to offer. Pls keep us posted!

Sounds like you're on the right path. If your end goal is just to get a MK then I would specify that to your SA in the future. You have a fairly healthy spend, and I think as long as you keep your relationship up that may be doable. Might take longer than someone with a bigger spend but slow and steady is fine.

The system doesn't keep a calculated "spend since last QB" metric. When they pull up your profile, some of the quick stats they will see are lifetime spend, spend for the current timeframe (calendar year), spend for the prior time frame (last calendar year), and number of QBs purchased in the current calendar year. From this, they can easily and quickly guesstimate how competitive your spending is but they don't break it down to before and after the moment of QB purchase so it frankly doesn't matter.

For example, if someone walks in as a first time client and decides to purchase a $75k watch on display and the SA is thrilled and offers a bag at the same time, obviously we wouldn't say that they got a bag with zero prespend and now have $75k prespend toward a next bag offer. But if a long time client who comes in every week and has a 2024 spend of $200k comes in to pick up a bag offer and sees the $75k watch and decides to buy it at the same time, the entire $275k profile will all be considered toward offer number two to some extent. Hope this makes sense.
To add to this, I've seen comments here about the significance of the order of the items on the receipt (i.e., if the item is scanned before the QB, it won't count toward the next bag, but if it's scanned after the QB, it will count). In my experience, this doesn't matter whatsoever, as I've experienced the QB being in the middle of the receipt, sandwiched between other items. Sometimes we're just overthinking it

Hi, not sure if this is the right thread, but I would like some advice/insight. We have been working with our current SA from last November. We were offered 3 non-QBs (we accepted one of them in Feb) before we received a BBO in May (we accepted this). This was our first QB with her, and we were at 2.75:1 (not including non-QB or SLG, and we primarily purchase RTW for both men and women, fine jewelry/watches, silks, and some shoes) prespend at a smaller boutique that is fairly competitive. Since then we already spent $30k+ in a similar fashion, and just put down a large deposit for a large furniture purchase. Now, our next QB wish is super basic:lol:, b25 in Togo with GHW, but in a specific color that is in production this year but not sure if it will be in 2025. We are concerned that since our boutique is on the smaller side, what they order at the podium is probably pretty limited compared to the larger boutiques, and we might be wanting something that’s not coming to our boutique at all this year. We know we can inquire directly to her if they will be getting our exact spec, but if they are not getting the exact spec we want, would you suggest we go resale? My DH does not care how I get a bag I want, but I do- with this much “prespend” I do not want to spend 2-3x more on an Hermes bag buying through resale not to mention worry about its authenticity.

Editing to add: If the production of this color (or any color) is suspended in 2025, how long does it usually take for the color to return/be back in production?

Is this B25 truly the only bag you want? If not, I’d add the other acceptable options to your wishlist and hope for the best (but of course directly ask your SA if any of the top choice are on order). If your SA comes up with one of the other options, you can get the top choice resale at that point. If it’s the only bag you want…you’ve already done the prespend so I’d just wait, resale will always be there if your SA doesn’t come through.

Once a color is rested, it’s impossible to say when it will be back. Could be one season or never.

Thank you. I will add other options and see what she can make happen for us!

Dang, “never” is what I am afraid of! That said, it might just be that I merely need to sleep on this color to calm down my obsession. Hermes comes out with great colors, who knows I might fall in love with another new color in 2025!

Just out of curiosity what’s the color you’re after?

We saw Sienne in Togo in person just recently and fell in love with it pretty hard! My DH loves this tone of red on me and he really wants this bag for me as much as I do. The fact that my daughter loves this tone of red makes this color special as well. It will likely come with contrast stitching but I am ok with it for this color in this size. I have liked Beige Marfa since last Christmas, and I like that this color comes with tonal stitching. I haven’t seen it in Togo in person yet so I am more sure about Sienne at this point.

Sienne is a beautiful color. I believe it came out in 09 if I’m not mistaken and has popped up a number of times over the years. The contrast stitching is stunning. I didn’t know it was in current production.

I personally think that you should follow your own advice at the bottom - color obsession really does come and go (for me at least)! I think you will either get this bag/color or you will see another color you love next year.

I think I have my eyes set on a store in the US I want to make my "home store." It's not my actual home but it's a place I'll likely travel to about 2-3 times a year. Is it ok to ask to put the b25 on my wishlist on my first visit? Since I can't go in regularly. Also ok to tell them I'm not local? I'd like to be as open as I can . Thanks.

They’ll see you aren’t local when they pull up your profile. It’s fine to ask for a B25 right away but also likely pointless to rush as it will take time and considerable prespend before being offered. I would wait until asked, personally, so that they don’t immediately write you off as a tourist trying their one hit wonder luck.
