Oh OK, so the new models are also that way. It would make sense since vachetta is like that too. Hopefully it'll have less cracking and peeling compared to the old ones.
My DE Speedy b has smooth sides but the fabric near the zipper started “disintegrating” almost. I found three tears. It’s in repairs now [emoji24]
I'm so glad I found this thread. My speedy b 25 from 2018 had glazing issues. LV sent it out for repair and the leather for the repair was matte (vs shiny on my old speedy !) The SA helping me noticed it right away and offered to get me a new one. The new one came in, this time with all matte leather (which I don't like as much as shiny). But I thought, maybe that's an improvement. Until I looked closer and found wrinkles on the strap and lumps on the side leather !

I ordered a DE Speedy B last year and when it arrived one of the leather pieces, on the side of the bag, had a lot of wrinkles in it (worse than yours). I eventually exchanged it and the new one they sent me didn't have it.
I have ordered a couple pieces from the website and there is always something wrong with them and I end up having to exchange them. I don't know if they quality control for the website is subpar or if I just have horrible luck.
Both of my speedys have done this, over time. I think that is normal, unfortunately.
Thx for letting me know. While it does not bother me as much as it did when I first noticed, I feel better not thinking that I have a defective one. I would never exchange either way...was my first LV, so attached to it! I may stuff it differently when storing...?
Aside from the lumps : ( do they feel softer? Any chance you can ask SA if they can track one in storage with an older bandouliere for you? Not sure if they even do that...?
My two DE bags (NF MM and Speedy B 25) both have the shinier leather. I have no issues with either; I think I prefer the slight sheen to the matte look although perhaps I just need to get used to the change.
When I talked to the SA, they agreed that the bag was defective (because of the lumps and wrinkles). They offered to order another, but couldn't say if it would still be matte leather. The other speedys in store all had the shiny leather .. So not sure if it's just speedy b25 that has this new leather.
It’s the 30 as well. I had posted on another thread with this same issue. I’m not a fan of the matte leather but if it helps with wrinkles and cracking then I’ll learn to love it!
I bought one recently too and I found the new matte leather ones had more wrinkling on the underside but the advisors said it’s only at the start and it won’t get worse with use. I think I preferred the slightly more glossy look too compared to the matte one but again I’m sure the changes were introduced for the better. Do you think it’s just the handles and strap that changed or canvas too? I can see the old ones being slightly more darker but I asked my few others and they said it all looks the same.
I got mine in 2014 so it’s 5 years old now and I have no winkles on the side or handles
