Speedy 30 in 2023?

Speedy is my favorite. I have the black multicolor, and monos and DEs in 25, 30, 35

It's a classic. It's light weight and can hold lots of items.

Just opened the package from LV with a Speedy 35B, the lock has some discoloration and the keys are completely discolored with faded yellow strikes across. I've never seen something like this on my other bags, usually all Louis Vuitton hardware is gold and shiny when it's new. Is that normal for the lock & keys to look like that?

That's disappointing - I don't think that's normal at all. My lock and keys are not even faded at all even after so many years. They become dull at times, but after wiping/polishing them, they look new and shiny and not faded. Do you have an LV store nearby you can take or exchange those to?

I decided to return it all together and repurchase the bag during my trip to Europe. I agree, it doesn't look normal. Even though I think I won't be using use the lock, but still it's kind of annoying when it looks like this new...

Yes, definitely annoying when you're paying a premium for a bag - everything should at a premium quality.

Most of my collection is Speedy’s. I still love them, they are classic. I don’t see a lot out there right now but they will always be in style IMO. Also, I recently had to get a new speedy 25 b in DE replaced. Long story, but let me tell you I looked at 4 and they’re all garbage. The quality is completely crap now on their Speedy’s!! Keep your old one. The new ones do not have the same quality.

I’m sorry I’m just seeing this!!! I have all the same thoughts. I’ve decided that in the end, it all comes down to my preference and I think despite my cons of the mono, I just prefer that print for the style of the bag. I just don’t love how dark the brown leather is on the ebene and don’t think it suits my style as much. I’m going to lean into the heritage of the leather telling a story of travel and use and be okay knowing that it won’t stay pristine, but I’ll take care of it.

It's the best have both or more prints (and leather version too) when we grow our collection, so use different bags for different weather and occasions

A quick update: When I was in Paris the store I was at only had the Speedy b 30 in DA and I ended up loving it so I got that one! Since I already have the Neonoe in mono I decided DA was such a pretty print for summer and I LOVE it. I definitely want the DE now though… I see how the carefree leather would make a huge difference with my kids. Now the struggle is 25 or another 30?

I’m partial to the DE!! I have the speedy b 25 in that print and love it!

If you already have a 30 in da I’d go for a 25 in DE. The DE is beautiful and carefree

I have both sizes, I use 30 when need to carry iPad, or for business meetings, 25 when only need to carry few items

I LOVE the Speedy 30 in DE...however I just decided to part with mine. Mine was not the bandouliere version and I really missed being able to put it on my shoulder or cross body. A top handle only bag just didn't work for me. I hope to buy the Speedy 20 or in DE or maybe an Alma. I think this bag will always be in style, though, such a classic!
