Oh because one cannot add more of same items into your shopping basket if it exceed the quantity in stock. I was curious about how many Jubilee scarves were in stock so I kept adding them into my shopping basket! I stopped at 47 something? But of course I only brought one in the end.
Ah, I see! I’ve never tried to add more than one to my basket but your explanation makes perfect sense, thank you for your clarification. I had been wondering if there was some visual indicator of quantity available which I hadn’t spotted

I guess on a production run of 500, having 47 or so on the website means my SA wasn’t exaggerating when she told me they were selling like hot cakes at RWHS…

My jubilee scarf was posted to me from Paris as usual as with all my previous online orders. Hence my guess is that it has been decided beforehand as how many scarves go to UK website and how many goes to each selling locations. The ones kept aside for online orders stayed in Paris while the rest were send to UK.

I bought my scarf from Windsor Horse Show at the H stall.
I don’t think at the Horse Show you need to be a VIP to get them from the stall…
I’m certainly not a VIP
Oh, I was unaware of it, sorry. I called H to locate this scarf and was told about VIPs and a small number being sent to shops in UK. Maybe by shops they also meant the stall at WHS.

I did get my scarf from a store and am anything but a VIP. I emailed an SA on Monday 16th when they hit the stores & website. She was been very helpful sourcing scarves during the lockdown for me and knows my enthusiasm. She didn’t say anything about VIPs. The scarves had just come in and she kindly sent one out to me. I posted mine here straightaway on 17th as they were still available on the website and I thought the pics might be helpful for those wanting to make up their minds. I think the site sold out by the next day although a couple showed briefly after that. When I looked in at a couple of other stores about 2 or 3 days later I couldn’t see any scarves. Perhaps the RWHS had the lion’s share.

It was on sale at Windsor (12-15 May) prior to any of the proper stores or online (16 May). They hadn't even arrived in-store by the 14 May and didn't know how many would be available.

 Pople at Windsor had first-dibs for sure.

And the unsold balance sent to the stores. The picture is becoming clearer! Slightly shabby for Hermes to use VIP to discriminate between customers, or imply such a distinction. Hopefully just an errant slip of the tongue…anyways, may everybody enjoy their Jubilee scarves and cheers to the Queen :queen:

I don't think that kind of VIP.

My SA has known me 13 years and was keen I get one. Not because I am a VIP and/or spend a lot of money with her/H. I don't even disturb her for the 'little' things I drop in for these days. Jewellery and silk are not her speciality anyway. I don't really need any more bags/SLGs, I don't mind who serves me so long as they do it well. Actually, I am not even in the running for VIP at my store anymore.

It's an important issue you rise though because it used to be just bags people would kill for, now it seems to be literally 'all over the shop' and Ltd/Sp. Ed scarves are another hot number lately.

I’m definitely not THAT kind of VIP
I go in once in a while and only get things I really like every now and then.
My SA got an invitation for me to Windsor Horse Show because my daughter rides on a casual basis. I started last year and just recently got off lunge line so and are just getting into learning about riding and horses
No one checked my profile when I bought the scarf either…

Well, I’m a VOP - Very Old Person - as my love affair with H scarves began in the early ‘70s, my late teens! The thrill of seeing the counters crammed with scarves and even more in the drawers was terrific! There wasn’t a culture of people flipping goods for profit and I think that has debased matters somewhat. Sorry if I’m OT now - Long Live the Queen!
