Scarves Special Edition Scarves

To celebrate the 200 year anniversary of the Greek Revolution in 1821/Greek Indepedence, Hermes will issue a scarf designed by Greek artist Elias Kafouros and will be available from Hermes Athens from March 26th. The silk scarf features the word Ἐλευθερία (Freedom) and all proceeds are earmarked for charity.

I find the landscapes stunning. Not sure about the lettering but it has meaning. I do know they have reissued these types of scarves in later seasons, sans words.

Great suggestion!! Lol... I remember there was also a limited edition scarf for a store opening somewhere in Australia, maybe last year. That scarf was later available in other countries. However, that particular one, no offense, was not very pretty in my opinion, so left over stock open to other countries, maybe? This Japanese one is really pretty and I heard each customer is limited to just 1

I am not in Athens and so will not be able to get this LE version. However, my store has ordered this and I am getting one next season. So stoked!

No worries! Also was told that there are going to be a lot of fun scarves and twillys (if you are into twillys like me) in the next season. SD ordered an exceptional scarf for me too - a cheval de fete with leather bits (don't ask me to explain in more detail because I wouldn't know how to)! Can't wait!

i absolutely love this. Back in the day you could call a European boutique and do a charge send. I did that for the Pompeii scarf. Might try again!

OMG! Whyyyyy? I'm so happy for those in Tokyo but why why why can't we get our hands on these. Ugh. So frustrating. Especially since SS21 is very mwah for me, both these specimens are making my heart pitter patter. Especially the men's and that perfect CW. I wish I knew someone in Tokyo...

Thanks for sharing! Here's what I learned reading Japanese articles covering this event.

The first scarf is designed by Kohei Kyomori, the Japanese designer who won the first prize of the LE GRAND PRIX DU CARRÉ HERMÈS in 2019 and the winners' designs are planned to be silks in following years. We already saw one of them for SS2021 - one of the second prize winner is the designer of Mr. Farrier for SS2021. This scarf is described as "exclusive release earlier than rest of the world" in most news articles and the Hermes official website article. The name (me translating the Japanese to English) is likely "Duo Cosmic". I see some articles say that it is an AW2021 scarf design, so "earlier than rest of the world" means rest of the world will get it for the AW2021 season. Some articles mention that this particular CW is exclusive to the store, which wouldn't surprise me since that's pretty in line with what they did for previous store openings.

As for Méga Chariot, as you may have guessed, they picked it because it is by Daisuke Nomura. This one is reeeaaally limited from what I can tell. There are only 20 of them...and it's actually 20 different ones with literally 1 for each version (if I'm understanding this vogue article properly https://www.vogue.co.jp/fashion/article/hermes-omotesando). Each of them is a "layer" of the coloring process, as you can see from the photo below. If that's the case, collecting the "set" must be really hard!
