Curious for advice after reading the b35 discussion: for those here who are married or have a female SO - how are you balancing the quota bag rationing in your household? I’d love to at least shoot for a b35, but also wouldn’t want to “waste” a QB offer on this if we can get harder-to-get women’s sizes like b25 or b30. Would love to hear how others do this!

Hi, first time poster. I was asked if I was interested in a kelly messenger or a large kelly. As I only plan to get one bag in the near future, I would appreciate any advice on which would be a better long-term piece, as a collectible.
What's the primary purpose of the bag you are trying to buy? Daily use for work or for travel? What items (e.g., laptop) do you plan to put in your bag? It all depends on how you want to use it. Some bags may be too big or too heavy. Also, one recent post stated that one of Kelly bags for men would cost about USD 19,000. So, it's quiet pricey.... There are many factors to consider....

I believe I could fit my HAC 40under a domestic US first class seat but would never do it as it would get too scratched up. I use my LV or Dior coated Canvas backpacks for air line travel under my seat. The canvas is tough and both travel well under my seat. I do have a bolide 45(baseball in blue) that I travel with amd store in the overhead compartment. The evercolor leather is tough and it does well. The only time I’ve taken my k40 or HAC birkin on a plane was international travel up front where it can be well taken care of as other have mentioned. Singapore airlines even has dust bags onboard they can give you to protect your bag :)

Thanks and agree. But let’s say I’m looking for a b35 and the dw is understandably going for b25 or smaller. Anyone else struggle with this? B35 may be easier to get but is also cheaper at a reseller, so we might reserve “the qb slot” for something of higher resale value?

surely your dw's happiness should be your primary concern?
and yours should be hers?
or are you more interested in reselling?

This is not really a topic fir this thread
sorry I joined in

Did anyone score a B or K for 35 (or greater in size) without a pre-spending history in Paris? Is it relatively easier there? Also, if I purchase any items in Europe, is it also shown in the US system?

This is a good read:

Why are you thinking resale value? This should not be something to consider for this bag/brand. Birkins are not Louis Vuitton or Gucci to flip after being bored of them. If that's the goal here, perhaps then this is not the bag to go after. I also disagree that B35 are cheaper at a reseller. Sure maybe now, wait until the the medium/large bags are back in and watch the resale go up again. That's fashion for you, just like the stock market.

Totally forgot to tell you about something RTW related: I had a chance to talk to the person, responsible for the orders in my boutique. They shared some info on what they ordered for SS24. We both love the double belt apparently. I learned that this is indeed a single peace, rather then simply 2 belts. Price will be quite high with > 2000€.
@nymeria was interested in this too

Do you have any other info on this, name etc? :)

Thank you in advance

If DH wanted a 35, our SA would be on the look out or we could go well priced reseller and get it significantly below retail

It wouldn’t impact us, bc profile is healthy and SA arguably likes DH more than me lol.

But, 35s are more difficult or Longer wait simply bc the store doesn’t order this size much anymore (an SM told me this).
I was shocked to discover a 31bolide was considered a ‘larger’ size these days lol

Not sure this answers your issue, but feel free to Pm

ETA: DH is the official acct holder in any H location (local, FSH, Asia), so we ‘share’ a profile
I’ve never needed to open a secondary profile, but of course that is subject to SA, SM, or store preference
