IMO the best bags that fit mbp 15/16 I use are sac a depeches 41 and b40. Plume 45 is a bit big for everyday but gorgeous bag. My vote is sac a depeches 41 in box. that is the bag that really helped me understand and fall in love with Hermes. Beyond elegant and I get loads of compliments every time I pull it out.
Thank you! Good ideas, I will research them.
How about the Kelly Depeches 37/38?

There are quite a few options, even if they may not have a specific compartment for a laptop. But many seem to require some kind of compromise in terms of practicality.

The Victoria light briefcase can fit 1 - 2 laptops and has an easy to use zipper closure. It doesn't come with a shoulder strap option and no outside pocket. The latter may be less of a nuisance because of the zipper closure. It's 40 centimeters, so it should probably fit a 15inch, not sure about the 16.

The sacs a depeches and all the kelly briefcases have the troublesome flap closure, no outside pocket and no shoulder strap option. Kelly depeches 37/38 won't fit your laptops. I would love to get more use out of these bags with a flap closure, but in reality I hardly end up using them. This is a personal preference of course.

The recent herbag messenger 39 has the troublesome closure, but it has both an outside pocket, shoulder strap option and can probably fit a couple of laptops with no problem. Not big enough for bigger laptops though (15 -16 inch).

You could also probably use the grooming bag as a laptop bag, it certainly is big enough, but it is much more casual than the other bags I mentioned. It has a shoulder strap option and is really practical.

A birkin 35 and bigger should be able to carry a 13 inch, a 40 or 45 could carry bigger ones laptop with no problem. I wouldn't worry about the handles, they are really solid rolled handles. If you are carrying the bag every day, the wear and tear should be more of a worry than stretching them. The handles can be replaced in a worst case scenario and you will likely need to send them to the spa for reglazing if you carry the bag a lot after a while anyways. Birkin obviously has no shoulder strap option, but it is a really practical tote.

There quite a few other options when it comes to seasonal bags that you could also consider.

Haha way off then  The height / width ratio looked like HAC for me.

Your reply makes me wonder if a 40 would makes sense for me (5‘9)…. anyway as someone here said: no alternative to try in the boutique
I personally think a B35 will be just fine for you. There are quite a few guys taller than me who rock this size.

The proportions of the B40 look like a travel bag to me, but to each their own. I used to have a B40 but I got rid of it the moment I got the B35.

Thanks so much for the detailed information!

Out of curiosity, is there a reason you say the Kelly Depeche 37/38 and the Herbag 39 won't fit a MBP Pro 15? The measurements, compared to the dimensions of the laptop seem to suggest it will fit. Maybe I am missing something or not considering something?

I have the Grooming Bag and it's not a practical "business bag", plus the awkward shape of it doesn't really fit the laptop either.

I have a B35 and I think it looks just right on me. I am 6ft 1 for reference.

As a matter of fact, I am even considering a B30 or a B40 due to the Goldilocks anti-theory...lol.

So a Birkin 40 should be fine for you.

I think my mental size conversion was a bit off :annoyed: and now I can't edit my post, you are right. I have actually managed to squeeze a smaller laptop into a herbag 31 (not recommended), so 39 should be fine for your needs. I actually love the herbag and consider getting the current messenger 39. I was never really into the herbag before I got the 31 cm on a whim, but the design is genius, it's low maintenance, not high profile, really practical and sturdy. It is also however also probably a great bag in terms of economics for Hermès. :P

Couldn’t agree more. I love my Herbag a dos and funny enough, quite a view people realize this could be an Hermes bag and ask. Absolute great value for money if you compare it to the QBs!

Just wish the backpack would be a view cm taller.
