Someone in San Antonio, TX withdrew $1,000 from my bank account

Yuck! Our senior VP had thousands charged on his corporate card with someone going on a rug shopping spree in Turkey (our VP is in NYC!). Glitches happen all the time. It's scary. I'm sure they will fix this quickly for you!!

Someone must have used one of those devices to swipe your debit card and took out the money. This happened to my DH about 5 months ago. Most likely it was a resturant, the server walks away with your card and swipes it on a device that can be purchased over the internet, then they sell the info and a new debit card is made and the person takes your card to the ATM and withdraws cash. Someone took out $6,300 dollars cash from our account (the ATM was in a casino). We did get the money back in about 10 days.

Yikes, I hope they get the funds back in your account ASAP! Did you make any purchases with your ATM card? How about at a bar or a restuarant....when in doubt -NEVER pay with your ATM especially if the card leaves your hands!!!! Use your credit card, NOT your ATM card....Keep us posted! It's a scary time out there and we should be alert to our surroundings!!!

You have my sympathies!

Someone - also in Texas! - somehow got into my Nordstrom Visa account and started buying. At least it was a credit card so no "real" money vanished. They took care of it IMMEDIATELY.

Sigh. I think this is just going to become more and more common.
