I just received my new to me black leather Zoe. I took a chance on this bag as it was only $71.00 shipped, but the bag arrived bent in half and stuffed in a small box. As I took it out I noticed a few spots on the outside, nothing major that can't be touched up. Now the inside is another story. It's quite dirty. The seller never even bothered to dump out any crumbs or trash and there is a stain of what appears to have been something sticky inside the pocket. I never buy used bags, but have wanted a throw around bag like a Zoe for awhile so I took a chance. Now I am wondering what I should do. I could clean it up and it would probably be ok, but something just doesn't sit right with me about that. I am a seller myself and I would never ever send a bag in this condition. I would be mortified if someone received a bag in this condition. I have not left fb yet and am unsure on what I might do or say. Plus it took over a week before she shipped it out and another six days to get it as it was sent parcel post. I really want a Zoe, but I contemplating on sending this one back.
Anyone have any advice as to what you would do?

Ew. Return it!

This is my most recent score on ebay as well, except I got the green :smile1: She hasn't arrived yet, but I am super excited to get her. The listing title was "Coach archive limited edition bag", no mention of Bleecker or Haversack. There was extensive pics and she looks flawless, and only $90! I sent the seller an email asking for careful packaging and shipping so she won't get damaged.

Wow that's a great price for the green! I hope she is as good as she looked in pics.

I agree with the previous poster, definitely return it! Open a case with eBay for item not as described. Was the gross lining mentioned in the listing?

I had to deal with this a while ago and I was able to return the bag and got my shipping back. There are tons of Zoe's on eBay and there is no reason to keep one like that.

Definitely return it. The seller should reimburse you for shipping both ways because it was not as described. Alternatively, you could ask the seller to partially refund.

I recently got an Audrey on ebay for the same price as your Zoe with the same problem. It was described as "like new" but the inside was covered in ink stains. I decided to keep it because even with the stains, it was a good price. There aren't many listed and the ones that are usually sell for a lot more. I didn't want to deal with the seller so I didn't complain or ask for a partial refund. I was able to clean it up so now it does look almost new.

I always assume that sellers on ebay are doing searches and research and checking the prices of similar bags. If I see a bag that is much lower priced than other similar bags on ebay and is marked "like new" or "new without tags", I assume the bag is not in good condition. The only bags that are "like new" in my opinion are bags that are nwt and ARE new.:p

For the poster who got a sticky, dirty used bag, I would return it and leave negative feedback.

Not always true. Sometimes people get an item as a gift and they don't know how to price it. Not everyone knows how to do research on ebay. I once got paid for researching prices on ebay.

This really is the heart of the matter, but for some reason people think the reseller shouldn't make anything at all. If I don't like the price that something is going for I move on, there's ALWAYS another.....might take a while but it will turn up.

This is an interesting thread! One of my concerns about eb@y is that if I had a problem with a bag I would not have the original receipt to deal with a return or exchange at a store. I could contact Coach repairs and send the bag in, which I have done, but for bags that are recently released it might be easier to deal with it in a store if I had made the original purchase.

Also another challenge for me is that my criteria might not be the same as a reseller as far as what constitutes a bag in new condition and what leather flaws I am willing to tolerate.

The risk of buying online sometimes is worth it though. I like reading everyone's thoughts!

You have a couple options. If you are willing to clean it yourself, you can tell the seller that you are unhappy with it's condition and ask for a partial refund. Or you could tell them that you'd like to send it back for a full refund. Mention the fact that it was folded, the crumbs and trash in the message. If they refuse to take it back and issue a refund, open a case. The stains should have been mentioned in the listing or shown in photos. Remember that if you don't win the case, you can appeal...do that and stay firm, you'll get your money back.
