Not always true. Sometimes people get an item as a gift and they don't know how to price it. Not everyone knows how to do research on ebay. I once got paid for researching prices on ebay.

I agree you can find the occasional clueless seller on ebay, but in my experience that is rare. Usually those seller post really bad pictures, and/or the item is a fake that they sell as real by mistake. I think there are a few miss-priced bargains out there, but they are the rule in my experience.

Of course as with anything on ebay ymmv. :smile1:

I just bought my first bag on ebay. It was a Bleeker Haversack....it was pre-owned from a smoke free home and said it was euc. I had to look up what euc meant! LoL....$199..no shipping. I was scared ro death waiting for it to arrive. I got it at work and was so scared i actually waited until i was home to open it! It's gorgeous and i love it!!!

I haven't had time to follow this forum thread but I am quite the ebay buyer and seller!! I love the Haversack so much that once I got my first one ( a green one, signs of light use, but only $76 ) I knew I had to hunt down the blue and pink ones--blue especially. But blue is rare and rarely sells for under $200. I just bit the bullet and bought one for $225 from a seller whose auction had already ended and I contacted her before she relisted it. It seemed in near perfect condition which is the only reason I'd ever spend that much!!) That bag hasn't gotten to me yet so I HOPE she's truly as nice as it seems in photos. THEN, last night, I took a chance and popped a bid on a pink one that I wasn't able to babysit so figured I'd lose big time!! BUT I GOT IT ! for $73! woooot. :woot: Now, I feel much less guilty spending so much on the blue one. I'll post a family photo when I have them all. I've gotten quite a few other ebay bargains over the last few weeks but probably will never have time to list them all. I usually list things like this over in the Secondhand bargain thread since I buy more used bags at thrift shops than ebay, or at least I used to!! LOL

Since I'm really new to Coach I had never seen these bags....but I am in love with this pink one!! The green is drop dead gorgeous! I've never seen a blue one..but i love blue!!! I would love to see your family! I read the rehab thread all the time...and what you do is so impressive. I'm not quite sure i can do it so haven't tried yet..but i will. I was hoping this pink one was in good condition because i couldnt have helped her if she wasnt..so i was very happy to see she was looking so good. The seller even sent along a jeweled fob she had worn on this bag and it's so cute and she even added another cute Coach fob i can put a picture in! It was a good experience and i am happy to have paid her the $199 she was asking!

ha!! I too was watching that pink one!! I kept putting off buying that color (even tho her price was really fair) because I wanted to sink the $ into a blue one if AT ALL possible. I wasnt expecting to find a pink one for a good price, and that quickly!! If you are a pink girl, youll definitely enjoy her!! I love blue more, but love this bag in every color LOL

I was going to bid on that pink one too! I kept telling myself I didn't need it and then I was sad when I didn't bid after all. I'm glad we weren't bidding against each other.

Sorry for all the typos in my above morning post! I am now ending my attempt at early morning forum posts :p

I just had another couple of thoughts on ebay: I will only buy from experienced sellers that have high number of purses sold. I check comments from previous buyers too.

I keep an item that I like on my watch list and look for similar items so that I can watch pricing trends. Often one purse will have an inflated price and shill bidders, but another purse that is exactly the same (from the outlets etc) will be more reasonable.

Just some thoughts....

I always just assume these will get bid on like mad at the last minute. I was totally SHOCKED that I'd gotten it!! I guess my top bid was a smidge more than people planned on going with it!

I bought a nwt bordeaux miranda bag for $350 shipped. she is so pretty. i used to own the bag and ended up returning it as i was unsure if the color would get used much. it has haunted me since lol. i have since realized colored bags are much more fun. well i finally found one at a great price and in the condition wanted. i will post pictures soon. i need to post a family pic as my collection has changed quite a bit.

I'd love to see this one!

I have this bag and find myself carrying it all the time. I am on a business trip for 2 weeks and I only took 2 bags, this being one of them because it goes with everything and can look both dressy and casual.

I really wanted a simple, black bag and found a listing for a 'coach everyday purse' - it's a regular Sophia, lovely leather, new condition. I paid $205 (free shipping!), so a pretty good deal too! I was particularly excited that this one has the silver hardware, as the one on coach.com looks like it's brass!

Since there wasn't much info - not even measurements - I played super sleuth, finding other pics of the lindsey and sophia to try to figure out what it was! Either would have been great, i just like to know what I'm bidding on :-)
