Nice deals, ladies! Back in 2006, I had a terrible experience buying a Coach bag on Ebay. It was listed as "used once, no signs of wear whatsoever" so I jumped right on that and paid $200. What I got was a disgusting, dirty joke of a bag that smelled like cigarettes. I emailed the seller right away for a refund hoping this was some kind of a mistake but all she had to say was that she "already spend the money". $200 was a lot for me in those days, not that it isn't a lot now... I was so, so upset. After a long battle with the credit card and Paypal, I finally got my $$ back, but I have yet to buy a bag on Ebay since then.

I never "score" anything on eBay. I've just paid really high prices for bags I wanted from people who regularly resell Coach. :(
There's a lot of that too.

This. I have mixed feelings about resellers. It is not the same as selling an old bag or two at a yard sale but a calculated business effort.

Byproduct of a free market economy I suppose.
It doesn't bother me as much when it's resold for the going rate for that bag. It does bother me when it's $100 or more than others like it. I guess it's their right as a seller. It's really up to us if we decide to buy it or pass.

I had an experience like this one. I received a bag that was not in good condition and had excessive wear. I understand that when something is preowned it's not going to look brand new but any obvious wear should be described or shown in photos. On ebay, preowned is described as "An item that has been used or worn previously. See the seller's listing for full details and description of any imperfections." After receiving the purse, I could tell that they even avoided certain angles while taking the pictures so the wear was hidden. I felt deceived and was . I contacted the seller but they were very rude and no help at all. I did get my money refunded by ebay after opening an item not as described case. Now before I buy, I ask very specific questions so that it is recorded in my messages. Ebay reads those when making a decision on who wins the case. I trust nobody on ebay. There are some good people who honestly just make a mistake and are willing to help but I can no longer assume that people will do the right thing.

I buy bags on ebay that can't be found at the outlet or in the fp stores anymore. I am not into the legacy line (which is why I am not on this forum much anymore). But I love the kristin line, and always have. I just bought a kristin pinnacle woven slate hobo today nwt for $500 and I think that is a good deal for this bag at this point in time. If I had been able to go to the outlets several months ago, I am sure I could have gotten a better price, but my job keeps me way too busy and I never get to the outlets when they have anything good. I like paying people for their effort in getting the bags at the outlet. In my opinion, we all win that way. I get a new bag at a decent price that I can't get anywhere but ebay, and they get to make money for working hard to get the bags.

I am excited for my new Kristin and will post pics when it arrives. :supacool:

I just bought my first bag on ebay. It was a Bleeker Haversack....it was pre-owned from a smoke free home and said it was euc. I had to look up what euc meant! LoL....$199..no shipping. I was scared ro death waiting for it to arrive. I got it at work and was so scared i actually waited until i was home to open it! It's gorgeous and i love it!!!

Totally agree. If they can find what I need and are asking a reasonable amount for doing so, I think that's completely fair. There's obviously a lot of time involved in tracking the good ones down and they should be paid for that service. Excited to see your new bag!

Hearing stories like this makes me happy, good for you! As long as the description is detailed and there are enough pictures you should be safe. If you end up with someone who has not been honest, try to work it out with them. If they are no help, always use ebay buyer protection.

I've gotten a lot of good deals on ebay but it takes a lot of work. Sometimes you can find a great deal on a buy it now if you catch it right when it is listed, or an auction that ends at an unpopular time, like on Christmas day or at two in the morning. It is often riskier to get the good deals because they are usually poorly listed, have bad photos, and aren't from sellers with a lot of feedback.

The people who regularly resell Coach usually have a good return policy and are more trustworthy. They have to mark up their items in order to make a profit. They have to pay ebay and paypal fees of about 15% and then they run the risk of something getting lost in the mail or a buyer claiming they received an empty box or a fake.

I consider the people who go to outlets and get the good bags and then post them on ebay at a fair markup to be my personal shoppers. :p I will always be willing to pay a fair markup to get a new discontinued bag at a fair price.

It's the people who buy a bag, use it, and then sell it as nwt or "gently used" that bother me on ebay. I will not buy a used bag on ebay. I have been burned in my balenciaga days and have learned that the term "gently used" is a warning in and of itself :p

It will be great to get a new Kristin! I am super excited.

What color did you get? Pink?

Well said. All very true.

I recently purchased a medium Black Zoe from ebay! I paid $125+shipping but it was totally worth it since it was in great condition. I needed a nice, big bag (I usually carry small bags)!

It's amazing how many different opinions there are of NWT on ebay. I've even found it to mean, 'Yes, it's been used...a lot, but I still have the tags...just not attached.'

I recently got a black all-leather Hampton in pristine condition for $36!!! Was expecting a very used bag that I would have to clean up but it is perfect! Happy happy! I have the same bag in black and white which I bought also on the bay, and I love it.
