Katrynar, I hope you don't feel one iota of guilt. This person is obviously delusional and clearly NOT a long time customer of Coach as he or she claims to be because if they were, they would know what excellent customer service is. You received nothing more than excellent customer service. I have had similar situations with other companies in which I did point out any possible error on their part and I have been told "no, this is what we are giving you. Thank you for being a loyal customer." I'd be willing to bet my Coach collection that Coach would react this way too.
As far as julesy being worried about paying more because of an incident like this....GIVE ME A BREAK PLEASE! How much do you think it costs Coach to manufacture a handbag that they are charging 3 to 400 dollars for? To account for that type of mark-up, they'd need to be giving away more handbags than they were selling. I'm sure they have a healthy profit margin and therefore, a cs giveaway is hardly going to break the bank for Coach.
I could argue more logic on this matter but really....why waste my time? Clearly we are dealing with someone who can't comprehend it.

Hmmmm I wonder if JULSEY would have been so offended if they had given you the credit for the purchase price, and given you a 25% off coupon with it? It's the same thing.

OK coming from someone who has worked in a Psych unit for 5 1/2 years before and has been a teacher for 5 years...this person needs serious help.
1. She needs a psychiatric evaluation
2. Outpatient therapy
3. Refill on her Paxil
4. A good lesson in manners
