So disappointed. Broken Birkin.

Thank you for coming back to this thread and letting everyone know what you ended up doing. It does give people who provided their opinions some closure and is a good learning experience for many of us. Especially those buying pre-loved. Often times, people start threads asking for opinions and then just vanish leaving us all wondering what happened? So thanks again for coming back and updating your thread. :flowers:

Going against all "never happens": my Birkin lost a foot. Literally. I stil don't have a clue how that even could happen, but it happened. I brought it to Hermès, they sent it to France, where they replaced it for free (and added a nice Spatreatmen for free, too)

That said I knew it couldn't be fake, so I felt quite comfortable walking in the store and telling" my B lost a foot". The SA didn't seem very surprised, they only discussed with me if all feet should be replaced or only that one.

If you are not pretty sure, that you Birkin is real, I would not go that route, as: a) you have the hussle 2.) the BIrkin will be gone a long period of time. As far as I remember, mine was gone for 6 months.

Return the bag and buy another one would be my advice.
Hi @millivanilli i just inherited a birkin from my grandmother and it has a foot missing! I have ZERO reason to believe that it's faux as that was just not my grammy's thing. Curious if you remember the foot being a screw on as the exposed hardware right now looks like it has threading for a foot to screw onto. Also curious, if you are comfortable sharing if Hermes charged for the repair and if it was wildly expensive? Thanks so much! <3

I would strongly suggest that you have your bag professionally authenticated. The feet do not screw on.

sorry, I didn't recall it right - it was free (before I wrote 800 Euros, but that was another Spa) and since then the Birkin kept her feet to herself

I can't remember if there was a screw, sorry:sad: but it could be, it rings a bell....

I am definitely looking into bababebi for sure, but it's so strange because none of the other feet actually screw on/off, they seem REALLY locked into place, so I think the bag got damaged in transit when my grammy moved into her assisted living or something. Anyhow, if you have any other recs of authenticators aside from bababebi would love the info! <3

Usually, I would only recommend Bababebi, but in this case I think you can utilize another service as well. I would use lollipuff.com, I think they will be able to provide you with what you need.
