I'm reviving this thread with my solitaire engagement ring! Just recently got engaged on June 26th, my love of 5 years finally popped the question while we were vacationing in Seattle, Washington. :)

It's .92ct, VS1, AGS Triple Ideal, J in color.
Big thanks to ame for helping me pick out this beauty. :) I posted it in the engagement ring thread as well, but it makes sense to also post it in this thread! :D

Beautiful ring, looks gorgeous on your hand :smile1:

I would like to share my Tiffany & Co. E-ring and Tiffany & Co. jazz graduated anniversary band. My small diamond seems to look bigger on my 3.5 ring finger. I love it but I am already sharing some thoughts about upgrading with my wonderful DF and he said we may do it AFTER the wedding. Im so happy! 😊😊ImageUploadedByPurseForum1423373050.114276.jpgImageUploadedByPurseForum1423373116.014182.jpg

That is the perfect size for your finger. I wouldn't change a thing about it. Congratulations on your engagement.

Mine is a 1.07 carat (unsure of other specs/tcw). I love my ring; the details are beautiful, and it fits nicely on my 3.5 finger. However, I was hoping for a 1.5-2 carat. I do like the look of bigger diamonds, and hope that we can upgrade at some point. I just don't think I can mention anything to FI for at least 5 years - I know it would make him feel sad :(. Any other ladies in the same boat as me?

What a gorgeous ring! Love your band too :)

I think it looks good and I'd say don't worry for now, it may grow on you. I was in the opposite boat when I got mine, I didn't want anything too big and so when we went to the jeweler, I picked a diamond that was less than 1 ct. The idea of the 2x monthly salary scared me so I was like uhh no :)

Now nearly 10 years later and after wearing a cocktail ring with a yellow topaz once in a while (reminds me of a yellow diamond), I'm really starting to think I could go bigger and maybe yellow.

But I wouldn't mention it until it is in the affordability range.

I love my 3/4 carat diamond and the love it represents. I reset it last year because I lost my wedding band - long story. But, as our 15th wedding anniversary approaches in March, I have no desire for a bigger diamond, as my diamond was there when he proposed and there when we got married. It was there when our children were born. It's a constant. Do I love big diamonds? Sure!! I'd love a big ole solitaire necklace. But my original engagement diamond will always be on my left ring finger.

Thank you, it is a reset. My original stone is the central one. DH matched the stones after each of my Children were born and eventually we had them set in to this. I loved being able to choose the setting with him. I feel really special, that he did this for me. There is no way this is ever going to be upgraded now. I was also blown away by the valuation too xx

LOVE that story. So meaningful!
