I got myself this little set for travel and I've been wearing it a lot around New York when I move around to all different boroughs for work. I don't feel the need to turn it around on the subway and I wouldn't be devastated if any part of it was damaged or destroyed.
It's a .33 carat Asscher cut in the middle but the halo helps with the coverage!

I think mine might be the smallest one yet (note: it's still not common to get an engagement ring at all where I live, let alone the big bling you US gals are used to!). Plus my hands are really tiny, so a big stone would be out of proportion.

Hey!! Not all of us are from the US and have big bling??!! I am from Canada and I don't consider my ring big bling. Comments like this bug me! The other very lovely ladies with larger diamonds NEVER come in here and say "here's my ring but it's not tiny like the gals outside the US are used too.."
End rant!

Thanks! I really love the tiny facets of the asscher - what a fun cut! In the right light it's quite shimmery.
I'm still wearing it quite a bit because I don't have my other ring fitted properly. The band is from bluenile and it matched the overstock ring pretty well. Both are "heirloom" style and with the right deals the set came out to less than $1250.

I love asscher cut; the facets in yours look amazing...looks very well-cut! I would have never guessed that the band didn't come with the engagement ring; they match great! $1250 is an awesome price too, wow!

Here's my engagement and wedding band. My DH did really well... I get so many compliments on it. I believe center stone is .75CT... Halo micro pave setting. I love the clarity and color!! Please excuse the unmanicured nails and hairy knuckles!! Lol

Thought I'd post an updated shot, since my initial post was of the engagement ring only.
Alishan 18k rose gold. E-ring has a 0.58ct ideal cut VS2 E colour diamond.
Maybe for our 5th anniversary, I can get DH to buy me a diamond band. For now though, I really like having a gold band I don't have to worry about when I need to be a little rougher on my hands.
The lace design keeps it from being "plain".
