Looks great on you! This makes me want to wear mine again. I don't think you'd be able to see any color difference in this size of the diamond unless you're extremely color sensitive. You might be able to see the size difference, 12% should be a visible difference in this size. If you're thinking about a larger one, you should try it on. I think it's better to try on 100 times 100 different options than regret your choice later. Just IMHO after many expensive mistakes!
Thank you. Darn it - that is what I was thinking about the .37 before I arrived to see the one that came home with me. I could tell difference between the .30 and .33 at the store (size wise)

I don't want SA to get mad at me - wonder if they would transfer the larger one without me buying or if I need to buy and then just return one. I intended to go as large as I felt comfortable with in appearance and my budget and .37 still in that range. Or there was a .40 ct option

I understand how you might feel uncomfortable asking your SA to transfer another size, but please please do yourself a favor and ignore this discomfort. You're spending thousands and it's literally her job to help you. I'm sure your SA will be happy if you get the larger one (assuming they get commission) and even if not, you should be 100% happy with what you're buying, so SA's feelings are irrelevant.

I know you are right and I did end up emailing her. She gave me a couple other options a .38 ct and .40 ct. they were not ones I had been given by online chat /diamond specialist. Do you know, do the store SAs not have same inventory to view? Also I asked for specific details as the online person gave me all measurements etc in a grid….not sure if she didn’t understand but seemed like she couldn’t give me everything unless she thought I meant actual certificate.

They already emailed me certificate for pendant I bought Tuesday. It showed “bruted” girdle which usually I’ve seen “faceted” now I feel like I need to verify more details on diamonds first.

Good luck deciding! Can't wait to see what you end up getting :)

Thank you, so right now here are the 3 options I am considering...none of which are at the store.

  1. 0.40 G color VVS2 clarity $4,560
  2. 0.38 G color VS1 clarity $3,720
  3. 0.39 G color VS1 clarity for $4,190

The only details / specs I have on each are: no FLUORESCENCE ; the girdles are faceted; triple excellent which is all Tiffany has from what I understand and I have the measurements. I feel like I am getting very analytical at this point and I cannot see in person. The one I have that is .33 is 4.5 mm and the above options range from 4.65 to 4.71mm in size - it seems from that I should be able to tell difference in size and they are all up one color grade.

All things nearly equal would the jump in price on the .38 to .39 be mostly because .39 closer to .40 and even number? Or do I assume it is a better diamond overall? Or newer to inventory?

Thank you....I am driving myself nuts and just want to make a decision and enjoy a pendant!

Sorry, missed this. The only way to know if it's worth paying the difference is to try them on. A difference like 0.1 might seem insignificant, but since it’s diamond weight, it can translate differently to how the diamond appears face-up. So 0.38 might actually seem larger than 0.40 depending on the cut. Sorry, I'm not a big help here. I think you need to see what you can and decide what you love most based on the visual, the specs are not helpful.

Thank you! I asked if she could transfer the .39 based on its measurements compared to what I have it seems I should see size difference. Plus it’s color up one grade not that I feel I’ll be able to tell that. Hopefully I feel happy when I see it!

Good luck, hopefully you love it! Don't settle though, you'll know when you see your perfect one!

Went back to store today and exchanged the .33 ct for the .39 ct pendant. Size difference was minimal but I wanted as large as I could go for my budget. It is G, VS1 and previous was H, VS1.

I am not sure if this would bother others but the first one also had a bruted girdle which I thought a faceted on was better although not visible.

Thank you you are too kind! The SA was very wonderful and accommodating. She kept telling me she wanted me to be happy. I get very analytical with diamonds now.

I do realize you don’t have to necessarily go crazy on clarity and color on the smaller pendant diamonds.

Looks great! Looking at your previous pics, I think this one is noticably larger and the white pops more on your skin. I'm sure it's super sparkly in the sun 😁
