Hi friends,

Do you happen to know if Hermes is able to do custom sizing of bracelets? My Hermes boutique sent an inquiry to Paris and said I have to wait 3-4 weeks to hear back, and I am anxious to find out. I am trying to add three more links to LG Kelly Chaine fully encrusted in diamonds…the store manager said they might say no…:crybaby:

I remember a few years ago asking if a chain could be lengthened and was told by the jewelry SA (not my regular SA) that I should take it to a jeweler if I wanted any Hermes jewelry sizing changes. They wouldn’t even switch a pendant to a longer chain. They said I should buy it as is and go find a longer chain from a jeweler. Needless to say I did not buy any Hermes jewelry that day.

Ah that’s very unfortunate! The store manager told me that if jewelry is altered by someone else than Hermes that it will no longer be covered by Hermes and if anything is to happen to it Hermes will not touch it. I called Fashionphile and played out this scenario to them (if I bought a piece of jewelry from Hermes and had it altered by a random jeweler would you price it the same as any other pieces that wasn’t altered), and they said no we would most likely not even take that piece. In other words that piece would be worthless and no longer a true Hermes piece - how sad is that…I mean I am not going to spend $40k on a piece that I need to alter and then end up with a zero value piece of jewelry…that’s a silly thought!

Oh my gosh - doing some research before I order and just came across this. So beautiful! Question for you, though. Does the motif flip around? The only reason I am holding off is flipping of the diamonds to be upside-down would drive me absolutely batty. Please do share your experience if you can - thank you!!!!

Answering my own question as I got these…love them! A good decent size (bigger than I thought)! Wearing here with the very small CdA earrings to show size comparison as I believe many people have that pair. I do believe that you may want to try these on to make sure the shape (curve) works for your ear. It looks very different on me than on the model they have for the mod shot online because our earlobe shapes are quite different. Sorry for a blurry photo I realized taking a photo of your ear is actually pretty hard :lol:

OT, but Hermes would not even shorten the length of sleeves of a reversible shearling jacket that I tried on at the fall winter RTW event. (I subsequently tried on a leather jacket in Milan that would have needed sleeve shortening, and was told the same with a more vehement not likely statement). In fact the SA was reluctant to even have me try it (presumably bc she knew my arms were too short). I was told that they would have to ask the permission of Paris and not to count on it. I got a cashmere jacket whose sleeves they did shorten. I tend to think if the store manager says they might say no, that they probably will refuse. I hope that you have better luck!
