On my computer, the strap looks black, which I think would look really great with that bag, if you added a black hang tag. Do the new tassles come in black? That might look nice on the bag, too.

The strap is dark brown. Maybe I will switch out the white Coach tag for the dark brown Coach tag on the other purse. So you think off white and brown look good together? I've only seen these contrast (tan and white, etc.) on the newer purses, not on the vintage ones...

Thanks for all of your feedback everyone!!

Scored this lovely lady off of ebay - Becket Zip from 1993, authenticated by Hyacinth. She is just beautiful in person. I tend to go for large, "blingy" bags (currently carrying a Madison large shoulder bag in cobalt patent leather), but I love the understated look of the Becket so much. She's very comfortable on the shoulder, is big without being huge, and has given me a whole new appreciation for vintage bags.

With the white bag I think you can create a striking spectator effect with black, brown, navy, or red. Just as long as you make the effect with strap and a hangtag and/or tassel look intentional. You can carry it off! Let us know what you come up with.

Is anyone here familar with Ferragamo bags? I found a made it Italy SF bag with at the thrift store the other day for $3.75. It is black twill with a leather strap.

I posted it for authentication but jcoll1960 is more familar with their shoes and can't offer an opinion. The link is below, any ideas?

Update! pazza4sacamain just confirmed that my $3.75 SF is authentic! It's my first Ferragamo!

That's a fantastic bag and your bag is in great shape! I have it in navy and I love it, but my bag has kind of a hard life.

I love yours in the navy! You did a nice job on the rehab, she looks beautiful in spite of her rough past. :smile1:

Thanks, she was an early rehab, before I knew about emu oil, blackrocks and touching up the edging, so I should probably give her some more attention and see if I can improve her looks a bit more. She is a nice bag and deserves a little TLC.

I thought it actually looked brand new in one of the pics.

I searched on "rehab" to see previous projects. At least half of them were yours. To say I'm impressed by your skills is an understatement.

On a sad note, I visited one of my favorite thrift stores, Assistance League, and while they had a couple of Coach bags, they were priced at $60. I think half that price is high. Oh well.

I have been slowly rehabbing this 1994 Helen's Legacy bag and I just received a 25% PCE and I want to buy my bag a tassle!
The thing is, the hardware is all brass. The only brass hardware tassle is yellow, and I don't know if that's the color I want. I was hoping for a different color. And that is what I wanted to ask you... what color tassle would suit this bag? It used to be mahogany, but it has either been dyed or just has a seriously dark patina. So right now it looks like super dark mahogany.

Any thoughts?

If that tiny coach tag isn't a biggy, just go to Ace, get a brass keychain/clip combo, and swap the silver tone stuff out on the color tassel you prefer

I was thinking about getting the yellow one too just because it is the only one with brass hardware. It is hard to know which color would look best with your bag without seeing it on the bag. I think most of the colors would work well with the brown. I don't think mismatching the hardware is that big a deal. I have this bag in apple green and I use a leather daisy keyfob with it that has silver hardware.

Momtok showed pics of her yellow tassel with all of her Coach bags and it looked great, was the one color that went with red, brown, navy and black. I believe it's a few pages back in this thread to see pics.
