Ironically, another Goodwill close by had another Coach briefcase/messenger bag in brown for $4.99 on the floor on the rack but I passed on it since I just bought the other one and hadn't used it yet.

:faint: ...You're trying to kill me.

In all seriousness, I applaud you. That takes real discipline. My inner hoarder would have never let me pass up a $4.99 Coach anything. Even now, I have more bags than space, but can't stop buying.

I would have bought it if I had extra money on me but I didn't so I did have to let it go. I already have like 10 different vintage Coach items, I think my closet would explode if I bought anymore!

I went to Iowa City this week. There was a Goodwill I scouted down near the Coral Ridge Mall. They had 5 Coach purses, maybe 5 to 10 years old. They were $50 to $60. Seriously, I have never seen any Goodwill purse that high. At Garage Sales maybe ( can't blame them for the price they paid) but Goodwill gets them free. I crossed over to TJ Max store and they had amazing value on Designer Bags, - except Coach. But they did have a couple Coach shoes, one in my size I scored for $59.
Last week I was at a Garage Sale that had about 10 Coach Purses. Newer ones, but worn to pieces ( never heard of Blackroots or soap) and pen marks all over. She even had the dust bags to go with them that she apparently never used. They were all $50, but I don't use handbags ( only shoulder or swing backs) and I well know pen marks are impossible to get out of leather, especially ALL over them!

Oh yes, lots of fakes at Goodwill too! Sometimes they put them in with the cheap purses because they know they are, and sometimes in the glass case. And most have the hangtags missing.
The Best Goodwills are in a better neighborhoods, like subs of Chicago in my area.

I've never, ever seen a Coach or any other premium brand in any Goodwill, Savers or other like stores. A few fakes here and there...yes.

I always find stuff at Savers (around here they're called Unique Thrift or Value Village) and in the "hood" Village Thrift (2nd Avenue). A lot of the time, Savers wants way too much for the newer signature Coach, keeping it behind the counter; and they toss the vintage stuff on the racks. I've gotten Ferragamo, Longchamp, Bvlgari, Kate Spade, Dooney and Coach. But, they do have a LOT of fakes--especially Louis Vuitton, Fendi and Coach.

Goodwill and Salvation Army are a no go. Never, not ever have I seen a Coach or premium brand handbag in any of them.

In the DC area, the better suburbs seem to have smaller selections of bags and tend to overprice. The stores in working-class and immigrant communities have way more bags, but the better neighborhoods seem to have more furniture and designer clothing.

As for Goodwills, they are far spread and filled with nothing but overpriced Vera Bradley. I'm going to try the Baltimore area ones and see what I find.

Found a Rambler (at least I think it is) at Village Thrift for $14.90. A little more than my usual budget, but YOLO...

I forgot to add, the dust bags were included.

Unbelievable! That Bleeker flap would have cost $200 on ebay! I love that bag.

Hi Whateve!
Yes, unbelievable! She was going to sell the flap for $40 and the clutch for $30, separately. She said if I purchased both she would give me a deal. So, she knocked $10 off the price of the flap. I have a green flap I got off eBay for $75. And, I thought that was a deal. I've been wanting the wine colored. The seller said she had carried the flap maybe twice. I'm so excited. And, that was my first Craigslist transaction.:smile1:

I've been so afraid of Craigslist, but that lovely wine flap makes me reconsider. That bag is beautiful. $30 w/ dust bag, is downright unbelievable. Congrats on your new additions :D
