I have been avoiding thrift stores for months and months because I have far too many bags and other stuff and I don't want to become the star on an episode of Hoarders!

But this morning, after I finished an errand, I found that I had a half-hour to kill before an appointment and that I was in a local strip mall that has a Goodwill Store.

So I figured "I will just browse the GW store while I am waiting. After all, I can't do much damage in 20 minutes, right?!" Well, I discovered that I haven't lost my eye for the bargains! Here are today's finds!

First I looked at the bags (of course!) and under a pile of cheap wallets and coin purses I found a 2010 FP Plum Coach Patient Gramercy Wristlet 43229 SV PM in perfect condition for $3.99 (MSRP = $98)

Then I wandered over to the area where they have drawstring and shopping bags and I found a large Coach dustbag for $3.99.

Then I peaked into a bin and pulled out 2 pair of brand new, still in the package, Emporio Armani men's socks for $3.99.

And as I walked past the Christmas display on the way to the checkout I spied 4 mugs that match my sister's Waechtersbach German china for $1 each.

So everything I bought today cost $4 each. I spend $16 in only 20 minutes and got some great bargains IMO! Here are the pics of my finds.

Aww I really like that wristlet. My first Coach wallet ever was also a grammercy in a deep purple. It could be the same purple tho mine is not patent. Cute mugs there too!

My newest pre-loved baby-Parker Small Flap in silver PYTHON. Real python!!! My hubby bought this for me on ebay. He paid $85 with free shipping. She was listed with no dustbag, but the seller found one and mailed it along with the bag. She was lovingly wrapped and carefully packed. She's missing her hang tag, but it is just a gold metal one, so I am sure I can find one somewhere. I remembered Katev's thread about winning the same bag, only hers has a fancier strap. My bag's scales are lifting a little, but a genuine python bag for $85?? I'll take the lifting scales!! She may never be carried, but she's certainly a showpiece if nothing else. She's so flashy and shiny!!! :D

Congrats! Wasn't that bag like $1100 originally? I love sparkly snakeskin!! And that's a fab bag. I saw one a while back, the bids got up to $100, then the seller ended the sale. Can one be happy and jealous at the same time...LOL

I had a rotten week, bag wise, but there was some good. Monday was 50% off at Unique Thrift and I was in "snatch and grab" mode, because the resellers were all about. In my haste, I accidentally bought a Taft that might be fake, but it was only $7.50. But, I got some other really neat bags--an equestrian bucket $9 , a station w/o strap $9, a near mint ergo hobo for $12, plus a Brighton and an old Longchamp. The shameful Taft is behind the other bags.

I hope you know you can have those Coaches authenticated here. And since most of them are highly faked styles, I'd strongly recommend it. See post number 1 in the Authenticate This Coach thread for instructions.

Goodwill was surprisingly bumpin'. This Coach Legacy Pocket Hobo was calling out to me. The photos do not give justice to it because it is such in beautiful condition. It was as if the previous owner didn't even use it! I was able to get it for a mere $14.91 before taxes!

I love that bag and what a bargain, congratulations! It is called the Coach Parker Exotics Small Flap Bag 13417 from the Resort Collection and was released in March 2009 and cost $898.

Buy a small bottle of DYO Reptile Conditioner online, that should help with the lifting scales.

If you call Coach customer service they will send you a gold or silver metal hangtag for no charge (but it may take a few weeks to arrive!) What a gorgeous bag. Don't let anyone tell you that Coach never made genuine snakeskin bags - because we have proof that they did!

Here is information I posted previously about caring for an exotic, reptile skin bag:

Thank you, Kate! I appreciate the info. Hubby ( ever the man ) suggested super-glue applied with a toothpick.
I've always loved your little Parker, and hoped to find one by some miracle.
my pleasure! they are such special bags! i have never worked with a genuine python bag but that is general info i picked about caring for genuine reptile bags, i hope it works for you.

if you take it into the coach boutique and ask for a hangtag the sa staff may be able to help you, they will probably be interested to see such a rare bag. don't tell them that you bought it on ebay, they hate that! just say it was a gift - that's the truth.

try and find out the hardware and color code if they can pull it from their computer so we can get a drill-down pic. my bag was rs fx (rosegold fuscia) and eva longoria's bag was rs rs (rosegold rosegold, I think!). we need to document these bags, there is so little info about them! congrats!

I will definitely do some research as well since the Python tends to lift more easily than the Karung, with it being metallic...I don't know how much different the care might be. The original listing on eBay actually contained two stock photos, which I thought was pretty neat...and it's how I figured out there was only a brass hangtag as opposed to a python tag. I will post a picture of my bag in the exotics clubhouse with the info. One of my besties is getting married in August, can't wait to carry my little stunner to her wedding. :D

I took your advice and have posted them in the AT thread. I've always wanted a Taft. So, part of me wants to know the truth, and part of me doesn't. I think the others are good, but I posted them just to be safe. Thank you so much!

Sorry you had bad news about the Taft - keep looking, there ARE some genuine ones out there! you just have to be really careful and familiarize yourself with the Fake Numbers List and the Salearea Guides. Even though I wrote the Fake Numbers List here at tPF I still printed a copy and take it with me when I get the urge to check the local thrift stores - memory can be faulty (Fawlty?) but printed copies can be a lifesaver.

I'm glad the others turned out to be OK.
