I was at war with myself on that one. I am glad you didn't post it for the PFworld to see and bid on --LOL. I went for it because it is hard to find, is on my Bonnie HG list, and is in great shape for white. I suspect a little refurb work previously done on it, but the seller doesn't know anything else about it...of course. But I too have cut back on my buying frenzy (went a little nuts with the Legacy bags!!! ) Now I just thrift for specific nice bags and/or stuff I've been watching for months and months.

One of the reasons I held off on that one is I was afraid it would be shoe-polished, but it sounds like it's in good shape.

I wish I could figure out what was used on my black slim tote because it looks great. I can't believe it is still that soft and shiny without some sort of treatment. It's colorfast too.

I accidentally coated more than just the "edges" of a little black Watson bag with Fiebings Edge Kote ( a large surface area, in other words,) before I realized what it was actually MEANT for, and it feels soft, and permanent and really nice when thinly applied --it isn't like what you see on the edges of straps which consists of a lot of layers of Edge Kote. I often wonder if that has been used and if so, maybe not such a bad thing? Except I bet the leather can't breathe as well which might not be great

An earlier model of the Cashin Skinny Tote. I like the newer models with the longer handles a bit more, but for $60 I am happy to have her in the collection! I hope to learn more from the vintage experts in the I.D. thread.

I was bidding on that one too! I was afraid of the white, though. I'm glad you got it. I wasn't responsible for pushing the price up - I stopped when it was below $50.

I was watching it. I deleted from my watch list and added it back. But, I was afraid of the white, too. So, I deleted it, again. Plus, I haven't had much luck winning, lately. I've been looking for BINs that are reasonable.

yeah, there's a reason I only have 1 white bag that I ever actually CARRY... and I knew this one was gonna be more of a "collectible" with minimal use (something I don't usually do...I generally only buy a "keeper" bag if I think I'll really truly carry it!!) I am appreciative of the fact that you guys aren't upset at me for having her...and for not bidding her up on me too high.....I really have had this bag on my HG list for a really long time!! so, thanks so much!!!

I don't think any of us would begrudge each other for having/winning these bags because we know how we are with them. I also had that white one on my watch list because it started out really low and I was curious as to what it would end at. Most things I put on my watch are for that reason though. They almost always go too high for me to even try by the last 12 hours of the listing.

Not upset at all. Actually, I was going to post the auction when it first showed up and had no bids. You know, "please get this so that I can't." I admire your bargain hunting and rehabbing skills. So, I can't wait to she her all buffed up and polished. She's a great bag and to have one of the original Cashin's is great.

First one I found yesterday: shoulder purse in burgundy. Its quite beat up and will require a lot of work but totally worth it at $9.99.

The second one is another my friend and I found at the same store. It was $39.99 but my friend was able to talk the SA to give her 20% off due to "spots on the front". so it was $31.99.

I wish we knew who else was bidding so we weren't bidding against each other. I would totally back off if I knew another tpfer wanted it. There was a red Emmie that I really wanted and I was hoping no one would post it on tpf - no one did, but it got bid up too high for me anyway.

that's one of the reasons I don't usually post anything from ebay on here unless it's a bag I'm personally not into. but yeah, even posting a bag for someone else is a way to get it noticed and bid up so I'd probably just PM someone instead. I want everyone to bid freely, even if it means I don't get the bag. (I might growl inside a little LOL, but thats the nature of auctions and ebay)....As long as none of us are aware of each other, we can just enjoy the process of ebay. And if I've had a bag on my "watch" Holy Grail list for over a year, and it suddenly shows up on ebay, I just want to try and get it and not be worrying about who might be wanting her too. I love it when other rehabbers are able to get something they've been really wanting...

that first one looks like it could have been made in NYC?? love that color!!!! Those often fix up nicely!. And of course Love that green too, a very unusual design with the snap closure...great finds!

I have another ebay deal I found for $75.00 plus shipping. This handbag was in great condition and it is the Kristen patent leather hobo with crossbody strap. At first I did not like the way the purse puddles, but it is light weight and I love the crossbody strap when I need to be hands free.

That's kind of what I did. I seriously considered it for a couple of minutes, then decided to watch the price. If I had happened to be online for the last few minutes and seen how low it was there is a chance I would have bid, but I think I feel the same as everyone else, I'm glad it went to one of us who will keep it and take care of it.

and I've been spending a lot of money so that's another reason I backed off!
