4LV, thak you for sharing the pics of your beautiful sapphire rings! Guess what! My b-day is in September, but I have no sapphire jewelry pieces! I have recently purchased a Cyelon yellow sapphire. Now it is in the production process (a solitaire ring). For the next b-day, I would like a blue or pink sapphire halo ring! I am not cracy because it's my birth stone.

I wear them whenever I want...I don't think they're formal at all. I like to mix formal & informal things anyway. I rarely wear an entire sapphire set of jewelry; I don't like to be too matchy-matchy. in general I'll wear matching earrings & bracelet, or necklace & bracelet, or earrings & ring, or necklace & ring...mixed with other jewelry.

put more simply: if you consider that you generally wear 6 pieces of jewelry (watch, bracelet, necklace, earrings, 1 ring on each hand = 2 rings), then I only wear 2 matching pieces out of 6.

I wear diamond rings whenever I want. I perhaps prefer wearing my diamond solitaire when I am in casual outfit. But, I am not yet sure about colored stones, especially when the stone is storong color. I like to mix gold and white things. I probably love gold more than white, but I try to purchase white look jewelry from time to time.

My iphone takes horrible pictures but I had to share when I saw this thread! For my wedding my mother gave me my great grandmother's sapphire ring surrounded by tiny diamonds. It's bigger that I what I normally wear, but for my wedding it was my "something blue, something old and something borrowed!"
