Wow, this looks amazing! Congratulations and enjoy the bag for years to come!
Can you tell me more about the leather? I’ve not come across this type of leather before and I am curious !
Hi I would desribed the leather is in between Swift and box, soft buttery like Swift, less rigid then box leather and it developed patina over time, easily scratched and can be wipes off but not totally if the sracthes is deeper.
I don't mind scratches as it develop own characters. I have chevre, box, Togo, clemence in collection and this is
my most favorite leather ❤️

Does anyone know anything about the Waffle Plume? I am obsessing over this one, a 32 in Rouge H Box, under the Sothebys “buy it now” listings:

Was this a Martin Margiela design? I can’t remember what year he left the house and JPG arrived….
I own this bag and absolutely love it! I thought it was a Margiela design, but I’m not sure. Hopefully one of the resident experts can chime in on that part.

While it was designed and released in the Margiela era, the leather is not his design, but in fact of one of their artisans, the same one who invented Vibrato leather as well. The Plume itself dates to the 1960s. The waffle leather is officially called "Dwich" due to the process of sandwiching a material between the layers of leather for the 3D effect. I've confirmed this with a good source of truth, see the thread I posted (which was kindly linked above) for more details.

My husband has this exact Plume and LOVES it. He uses it frequently and it gets many looks/comments.

Many thanks @duggi84 — and also @MommyDaze and @shopaholicious — for your encouraging and helpful replies! I’m definitely feeling tempted now — all the more so as the price Sothebys has the bag listed at seems weirdly reasonable by H-bag standards. I’ll report back if I take the plunge!
