Dear Plume lovers - What are your thoughts of a shoulder strap on a Plume 28 or 32? Does it feel 'boxy' around the hip area? Your input will be greatly appreciated.

I like my Plume the way it is. A strap might give a different look which is fine too. I have a 28 and it fits on my shoulder. Not the same as a longer strap. Still the ease of being hands free

I wouldn't know where to put the shoulder straps. Attaching it to the hardware of the handle base might work, but I would worry about stress and damage to that area. Since the handle drop of the plume is longer compared to the Bolide, Birkin, or Kelly, strap might look a bit odd with the longer handles.

As an owner of two 28 plumes, I think this could compromise the delicate handle attachments and tug at the metal pieces that attach the handles to the bag and would put a lot of pressure on those points if carrying a lot.

The plume is relatively light compared to other H bags, and is meant to be hand carried. Perhaps you could look into another brand bag that has a plume look with the cross body option?

I thought that also. Additionally, the area to attach the strap is small. It might be difficult to find one

The real issue is how you are going to attach it. Have you tried?

Hi ladies - Thanks a million for your input  You ladies are correct with the observations and a strap will not be quite appropriate. Blame it on jet lag and reading up on Plume bags when everyone else sound asleep ..:wave: H. for H. too

Agree with others that adding a strap would not be so optimal. However, I AM able to fit the straps of the 32 over my shoulder, even when wearing a coat, and I'm a solid medium in size. Something to consider :)

I have only seen vache natural offered in Roulis ( though do not know if it was offered I other bag styles) recently. My Halzan is from this year in Barenia and seems that Birkins and special edition bolide ( shark) is also available. You should ask you SA, but the closest I have seen in 32 plume was Veau butler several years ago. It had a different colored interior and was very cool,

Hi plume owners, would you be able to share what is the handle drop for your plume 28 or 32? Have browsed through some listings and it seemed to vary (28: 5",7"; 32: 7",9") so was wondering which is correct. Am trying to see if it can fit over my shoulder. Thank you!

Measured my plume 32 at 7.5" for the handle drop. I can technically fit it over my shoulder, but don't find it particularly comfortable to wear that way due to the width.

Just measured my 32's, they are also 7.5". They fit on my shoulder and I'm ok with wearing them that way although it's a bit tight. Unless you are super slim you won't be able to fit the 28 over your shoulder (I had one but recently sold it so can't provide measurements).

Hmm...the drop sounds fine but now that you mentioned it, the depth of the bag might be the problem even if I can fit the handles over the shoulder. I can't do hand carry only bags (will struggle with my things) so maybe plume is not a good idea even though I like the clean cut look  But will think about it...and thanks so much for measuring!

Hi buttonmushroom,
I believe the 28 handles wouldn't fit over anyone's shoulder. The 32 handles do, unless one is large. I can measure mine & get back to you shortly! Nevertheless, I wouldn't consider the Plume the most convenient for you if it's only shoulder bags you can use - only because hands free typically pairs with scant time to undo zippers??
