Bump!

I've tried to read quite a bit about Leon, his work, and style, and I have no doubt in mind that he is talented. However, I'm nervous about trying to meet with him or get a quote because ideally I would like to get a setting to reset the diamond from my mother's engagement ring (she passed, and I would like to reset it instead of doing something else with it). However, I haven't had the diamond appraised, so I have no idea what the quality is like. I'm worried about bringing him a diamond that is lower quality than what he is used to working with. It's beautiful to me, but is it possible that he would refuse to work on something if it's not up to his standards? I'm sure this sounds silly, but I'm so nervous about this!

I have heard "gossip" about Leon being choosy for what he works with but quite honestly I've also heard he is very close to his family and if it is a family diamond I don't see him turning you down!

I expected the worst, not even kidding. I didn't find one thing about him hard to work with.
I brought my own diamond, it's not a perfect stone. It's a really good one, but not perfect.
If you can manage it, meet him in person.

Thank you Candice and Swanky.

I would definitely prefer to meet with him and describe what I want. Just so nervous because I know my father probably didn't know anything about diamonds and probably didn't have the funds to spend on a really great diamond 30+ years ago. Everyone who ever saw my mom's ring loved it, but most people probably can't tell a good diamond from a great diamond by the naked eye anyways.

Would it be best to get the stone appraised and then email Leon with the specs to see if it's something he can work with?

I'd reach out before appraisal, see what his request is.
Meeting with him in person is great, he doodled and drew up things as I said what I wanted.

Just ordered my first ring by Leon Mege and I am excited and nervous at the same time! It had to be all done over the phone and via numerous email exchanges, but we found him straight forward and easy to work with. Will probably be nervous till I get to see my new ring!! 😜

Exciting! Can't wait to see pics of the ring 😄

Allure and Swanky mama, I don't want to get you guys too excited, cuz mine is going to be a very simple design with no extra stones. The centre stone is a small one from Leon's Elite collection, and when we were interested in making the setting a bit more elaborate without adding any side stones or pave (I will be wearing the new ring every day, and I didn't want anything delicate to worry about, with which Leon agreed), Leon shut us down on all ideas but the simplest designs, lol!! He "promised" the simplest design he is recommending will be the best. Ahhhh, getting nervous again!! :p

Thank you ladies for all your lovely comments! I know this a LM ring thread, but I just have to show you the earrings he/his staff made for me. I just love his pave works.

Those are yummy

Just received the video of my finished ring (it took longer than the original estimated time of completion). Can't wait to see it in person hopefully sometime next week when it arrives!! 💍
