What lovely pieces! The bracelets are beautiful, but my favorite is that heishi necklace. That curve looks like it would look flattering on a neckline. Love all the rings too. But my favorite is the one your granddad made. Has a lot of soul. Did he make a lot of jewelry?

The necklace is very flattering - I wear it regularly. My grandfather made jewelry as a hobby - mostly gifts for my grandmother. I have a handful of the stuff he made - two bracelets, three rings, two pairs of earrings and a pair of cufflinks. It's all sterling silver, but the sentimental value is priceless.

This may not be the most exquisite turquoise items I have, but they are the most curious. All were bought in the Indian Market in Albuquerque NM about 25 to 30 years ago. The silver safety pin I used for a keyring until "keyless" cars. Now I see them as "vintage for $70 up ( I think I paid $10) the necklace has turquoise beads and a silver charm with piñon beads. The turquoise rock has melted gold around it for a frame. ImageUploadedByPurseForum1439676545.478357.jpg

You're right, they are interesting pieces. The safety pin is very cool.

I love that silver safety pin! Is it sterling?

Sorry, I am posting late as I do see it sold. I do know I have a fav pendant with this same setting bought some time ago. Looks real to me. Would have been nice to have shown a pic of silver stamp.
No worries, thank you for the reply! I ended up purchasing it actually, I was looking for a pendant for my mother because she wanted turquoise and I really like that setting.

Got the pendant. Any more thoughts on whether it looks like real turquoise?

It may be some grade of turquoise, but not untreated natural material (and therefore not high quality). The matrix (the veined dark-colored stuff that is supposed to be the host rock) looks dyed, meaning the veins might have started out white and then were tinted to improve the look. Just a guess from the pic. It could be Mexican made. Can you post a pic of the markings if any on the back?

There is an eBay link a couple of posts up with pictures in the description, I'm having trouble posting them individually. I appreciate your help!

I looked at the eBay listing, and my comments below still stand. The engraving on the reverse doesn't tell me anything more--it easily could have been added by the seller or someone else and isn't a shop mark.
Enjoy your pendant.[emoji5]️
