Be careful with Pierre Cardin bags, because a lot of them were made iin Hong Kong in the 1970s-1980s from embossed leather and not genuine skin.

I think Vitta means that it may be embossed leather (cow leather that has been stamped with the pattern of an alligator/crocodile) and not of the actual exotic reptile.
I also have a Pierre Cardin embossed croc bag. They are nice leather bags.
