I have a JPG 42 (old school) — albeit heavy, it is one of my most used H bags.

Not sure I’m liking the proportions of the new ones in the boutique though.

I saw this recently in my boutique and crossed it off my list. The proportions seem wrong to me and I think it would be uncomfortable to carry. JMO

I agree. I was offered the new shoulder Birkin in Paris and tried it on. It barely fit on my shoulder actually and was not comfortable at all. The bag itself was basically in my armpit! And the straps did not stay properly on my shoulder because I think they are a little too short for a comfortable shoulder carry. I feel like many mod shots are showing people hand carrying it… like a regular Birkin. In which case, I would rather a regular Birkin.

I said no to it so fast I didn’t get a chance to take a mod shot, but here’s one from another reseller. I think it looks really awkward.

I recall seeing images of a larger ‘new’ shoulder Birkin 18 months ago but I guess it never materialized. I really want to like the 29 but as many have said, it’s clearly not a ‘shoulder’ Birkin and, if I can’t get it over my shoulders (which are kinda buff 😉), then I’d rather carry a B30.

Agree. Maybe if they had called it a different name, like Birkin Elan or something, and not try to pretend that it is a “shoulder” bag, I would like it more.

@880 I also like that pic of the ardoise one! It looks cute in that picture with her outfit and the way she’s carrying it… not on her shoulder lol.
