Should I return it?

I think Coach knows people try bags out for a bit and if they don't like them return them. It's not like we are wearing them for a year and returning them because something new comes out. We are returning items that are new, that we just didn't like for one reason or another. I wouldn't return an item unless it was just like I bought it. And when I said I wore it once, it was for about an hour to drive down to my mom's where we went to her Coach store and got the Carly. I then put it in the dustbag and moved all my inside stuff into the Carly. That's way less time then the bags in the boutiques get and they are still sold. It's not being dishonest, it's being reasonable.
Will you tell the SA that you used it or pretend that you just didn't like & didn't use?

Okay, I'm just being the devil's advocate here, but what's reasonable to you might not be reasonable to someone else. There was a thread about this not too long ago where just about everyone who posted agreed that when they go to the Coach store they expect a brand new bag from the backroom that was unwrapped just for them, one that wasn't handled by other people. I don't know what your feelings are about that but ask yourself whether or not you expect the same. If so, it would be hypocritical of you to return that bag. I am not judging you; you do what you feel is right. ;)

Ok, here's what I am thinking: I have 10 coach bags and I am feeling like I am neglecting the one's I am not wearing. I have the Soho Signature Studded Large Hobo 6426 that I am not wearing but once in a while.

sounds like it has been used more than once.

Do they re-sell the store returns in the boutique or send them to the outlets?

Since it's a bag from last year, they will send it straight to the outlet. But I think you will have a hard time taking it back....the bag is a year old, no tags attached....who's to say you didn't use it. I have bags I've used continueiously (sp?) & they look brand new.:shrugs:

Just return it to the store. They will sell it in the outlet. We all know that since it is an older style. In the outlet you get a lot bags that are in quetionable condition. Some people go into the store and put all of their stuff in the purse and then walk around the store for an hour with it. You did nothing more than that, just at home. The SAs need to be trained enough to recognize if it is used.

If you get credit for it you have plenty of time to use it. Maybe something doesn't excite you right now but something may come along in the fall and you can use it then.

I have seen many things returned that are probably in worse shape to retail stores. Since you know that it will go to an outlet and not be put back on your store's shelves, you shouldn't worry. The SA will tell you if it looks used and they won't return it. It doesn't hurt to try.

Good luck.

So are you going to buy it then? Do you really think it's okay to buy a bag, use it only "but once in a while," decide you don't use it enough and then return it to the retail store for a full refund or merchandise credit? If so, you have no right to ever complain about the prices of Coach bags or any future price increases. Coach will lose money from that sale if they give a full refund and then ship it to an outlet to be sold at a discount. Yes, there is a huge markup on these bags but it's still a financial loss to Coach and, in the long run, it affects us all because we all pay for it.

Huh? That is completely illogical and a horrible argument.

Honestly, folks, I am amazed by how many people aren't bothered by this. This is an absolute abuse of Coach's return policy. :s

I agree!!!!!

This style is new in the outlet that I frequent right now. Even tho I'm paying an outlet price - I don't want anyone's used bag...no matter how nice it is. I can go to ebay and consignment shops for used stuff.

Surely the stores have a maximum time limit for returning goods? Here it is usually 14 days for a refund some do 28 days for a store credit. Some of the bigger chain stores do 28 days for a refund I think Marks & Spencers give the longest 2-3 months but noone here would take a bag back after a year!!
