I agree with this. I was in the same boat as you. I recently was contemplating selling my vintage lambskin jumbo, as I didn't wear it for several months, and I have several people already eyeing my purse and waiting for me to sell it! It's a beautiful purse, but it felt a little too "fancy" for my lifestyle, as I tend to dress casually and I prefer silver over gold (and the HW in the vintage jumbo is insanely gold!) But then I wore it a couple of days ago and instantly fell back in love with it. I also took into consideration that if I want to rebuy a Chanel jumbo in the future, it will be waaaaaaay out of my price range. I knew I would regret selling it, so I decided to just keep it.

I agree with the other posters who suggest wearing it for a while before selling it. Good luck in your decision!

Thank you ladies for all your advice! Most of you had said to keep my flap and everything you ladies have said is very true. I might regret it big time and the flap will be much harder to obtain later. I guess my daughter is going to get lucky and inherit my lovely Chanel flap lol!

as for me i want to sell my balenciaga for buy chanel again.. i prefer chanel than balenciaga, balenciaga with gw is heavy for me and again i just love chanel better than my balenciagas so classy.. do not sell ur chanel just wait till u have some money to buy balenciaga..

Please please don't do it!! Chanel especially your jumbo is classic and Balenciaga (to me) is overdone and a fad that finished back in 07?! I used to have a B rainbow but sold everything! Now I only use chanel and Hermes most of the time. Please don't do it! You will regret. If the jumbo is not big enough with kids, get a GST or another tote! Good luck!

It's your only Chanel flap, KEEP IT!
Once you sell it, you can't get it back at similar price anymore...
Selling a Chanel to get Balenciaga is not worth it.
Chanel is always a classic bag for every woman.

If this is the only Chanel you own, I woudn't sell it. The price of Chanel keeps going up, I would just save up and get the Bal that you love.

I own Bal giant hw city and pt and love both, but I do think they are quite heavy. I also own a Chanel jumbo, but find it easier to carry my jumbo than my Bal, don't ask me why. When I am going out with my 4 year old alone, I usually carry my Chanel half moon or the medium CAM, so that I can be hands free. I would only carry non-messenger bags when I am with my husband.

I have a pretty diverse collection from different lines; Chanel being 50% of that collection. I would not get rid of the Chanel if it your only one. Bal is lovely, but Chanel is timeless. The other ladies are right. The bag will keep going up in price. In 10 years, will the Chanel be more to your lifestyle? Yes.

I think you should hang on to it. Its the only one you have, the increases are exponential, plus kids grow up and you'll get lots of use later out of it. Of course people get bored with their bags: rotate! So along those lines, keep it for now. Wait it out a bit more to save up for the Bal. Good luck with your decision!

I wouldnt sell it if i were you.. Think of the price increase....
Moreover ur kids will grow up, you might regret selling the bag, so timeless and classic and valuable...and getting it again after many many price increases... Just not worth it.
