I have the madison tote in persimmon, black, and the purple patent (don't remember the exact Coach name for the color)...and I love all three. I am not a fan of the zebra - my outlet had several of the Kelsey zebras last week - I love Kelsey but just couldn't pull the trigger because of the print. So my vote is Madison patent...I think you live in the Chicago area?, think about how awesome that crimson tote would make you feel on a cold, snowy day! I am in NH so I know how it would make me feel!

I believe the purple color was called aubergine and it is gorgeous! You are right about the attractions and advantages of a bright patent bag during winter in the Midwest!

I got the Madison Zebra Print North South Tote 26633 LI BMC for $99.99 (MSRP = $298). I love that it is fun but still sharp-looking. It will be great for travel because it lightweight, holds a lot, and will pack easily. I also love the way that you can clip the inner straps to cinch the bag in to change the shape and make the closure more secure.

I am not crazy about bags that puddle and this one is a puddler! But it opens up so wide that I hope it won't be a problem.

I took pictures with and without flash because it is hard to see the true colors. What do you think of my first bargain bag?!

Katev, I love this tote! I saw this one at the outlet last weekend but it was 238.00 so I passed. Instead I got the Madison Zebra Kelsey which was on sale for 69.00!
I thought 69.00 you can't beat the price for a full price delete. I can use a small bag for going out at night when I don't want to carry a large bag.

I say keep the zebra tote as it is gorgeous!

Congrats!

Thanks! I can' believe that the tote was so expensive, it must have gone to clearance just when I got it.

Great buy on the Kelsey, gorgeous bag at a terrific price. That's what I felt about these 2 bags - FP deletes for $100 - how could I miss?!

Katev, I totally love these bags, esp for $200 total?!?! Crazy!!! I really hope to find the zebra tote. I just love it. I got the ocelot and after using it very often, I thought to get the zebra, too, but wanted to wait for it to hit the outlet (same reason as you ;-). Keep em both! The crimson is gorgeous and will be a striking bag come winter time...barring another polar vortex lol. Enjoy! You scored huge!

Thanks, I hope you find the zebra tote at a great price too! it was so much fun to find real bargains on beautiful FP bags at the outlet again!

I'd keep both...I have the N/S but in chenille ocelot and it's great bag. So roomy and so light weight.

I agree with other poster and would keep both . Plus the prices are too good to pass on...I do have the zebra print on a swing pack. Loved the print so much , had to buy something with it !;) ENJOY your lovelies !!!

I like the zebra one much better, so I would kept that one.
...

Both are gorgeous! And at great prices!
I have the zebra e/w tote, and I really wish i got the n/s or phoebe in that print. the fabric is soooo nice...

Well the zebra-print Madison north south tote is a keeper! I filled her up and carried her around the house. She was comfortable and roomy and stayed on my shoulder and the "puddle problem" was not a big deal after I filled her up - especially with the inner strap clipped.

So I cut the tags, sprayed her with rain guarde, and decorated her with my haircalf lion fob. I've also decided that my Madison mahogany needlepoint double-zip wristlet will work great with this bag.

I was worried that it might look bad mixing 2 prints but they are both brown Madisons from the same release. They are made of the same type of fabric and both have light gold hardware and are decorated with the same metallic coach logos. I think they look good together.

And I like the idea of a light-weight fabric wallet with this bag because I bought it primarily as a light-weight travel bag.

Here are some pics of the bag all loaded and decorated and also with the needlepoint wristlet.

I still haven't made up my mind about the red patent tote - but I've got plenty of time to come to a decision!

Here is a drill down pic of the lion keyfob 92844 SV MC. I got it at the outlet for $13 a few years ago and I think that the lion's mane is horsehair or haircalf?

You see the lion's tail on the reverse side of the fob - so cute!

I still haven't made up my mind about the red patent tote - but I've got plenty of time to come to a decision!

I have a MK patent tote very similar to the red Coach one, down to the chain straps and breakaway zipper. I bought it in February, used it for a while, and then put it away for something smaller.

Well, I was going through my closet a few weeks ago to see what I wanted to sell, and I decided to give it another chance ... love! It's such a great bag for taking to work - I can throw lots of extra crap into it, it stands up nicely. Give the red bag a chance, it may surprise you!

That's good to hear, thank you!

I carried my Madison Zebra Print NS Tote today and I love, love, love it! This bag is great and I got compliments both on the bag and on my lion fob.

Instead of being just a "Travel Bag" I think this bag will become a favorite for everyday too!

If you have been thinking about getting one and you get the chance, I suggest going for it!

It's one of those bags that you feel unsure about at first, but after you get it and try it out - you love it!

The Madison tote is to die for! I love that shade of red :hbeat:

If you're only going to keep one, I vote the patent leather tote.

On another note, I've been so inspired by your Coach rehab entries! It's really made me want to find my own bargains and try myself. I love, love old style classic leather Coaches. If you wouldn't mind, could you give me a few pointers about rehabbing Coach Madison Italian leather? Thanks!

Thank you! When I first started rehabbing the Italian pebbled leather bags I was told that they were very delicate and must be treated gently. I started out that way but then I came across some that needed more than a gentle touch and it turned out that they weren't all that delicate after all. I have even given baths to a couple of them!

If your Italian pebbled leather bag is in good shape then you won't need to do much. You can just wipe it down with a damp cloth or use a gentle soap like ivory. You can use non-bleach Lysol wipes to clean the interior and then condition with a thin conditioner like Lexol. Be cautious about using a thick, opaque conditioner on a pebbled leather.

But I have found that a product called Leather Therapy Restorer & Conditioner (link below) works very well on the Italian bags. It restores the shine and hides some of the flaws. It does have an odor but it fades with time and it's not unpleasant.

When using any new products, it’s always wise to spot test first before doing a full application.

I will look for the link for the rehab on an Italian leather bag that needed more than a gentle touch!

The Lion Fob pairs well with the purse. :)
I'm normally not a patent fan, but I can see how the red will give a nice pop of color during those dreary winter months. I'd vote for the red.
