I've dealt with her once and she was very professional.

At present, I feel Elana is being kicked over and over again.....she's DOWN on the ground people. Ease the kicks & let her stand up.

Personally, I don't know if I'd come here into this thread knowing the negative. BUT if I was innocent, or had a valid explanation, you bet your a$$ I'd be here.
 
She doesnt need to come to this thread and explain anything if she doesn't want to but she should contact the OP and straighten this situation out.

The OP deserves an apology/explanation and REFUND asap
 
As I mentioned in my earlier post I have purchased 6 necklaces and 2 pairs of earrings from Elana in the last 12 months. Each time they were flawless transactions. IMO in addition to what she had been through during the summer something has happened and this unfortunately has caused her to neglect her business. I am not making any excuses for this behaviour but I still do not believe should woke up one day and decided to "scam" her customers.

From what I have read there seems to be only one customer waiting for her order and that is the OP. There were others that got their parcels very very late with excuses along with the lateness but from what I can read from all the posts on here and the other forum there is only one customer still waiting.

OP have you emailed her through her personal facebook page? That seems to be the most active of all her blogs and pages.

How can someone return to being trustworthy after all this?

It could happen. I think the best way to restore people's faith and trust in her, would be to come back and be completely transparent about what has happened, down to providing evidence if available (for example, if she has been in the hospital, providing hospital records to show that), apologizing to everyone involved and explaining what went on and why. Then she would need to maintain a very reliable presence on this forum and the others she is a member of, promptly responding to attempts to contact her. She would need to get an answering machine or cell phone with a voicemail for her business and perhaps a Blackberry or other PDA of some kind, so she could respond to customer questions and requests as immediately as possible.

And, of course, she would need to provide refunds to all who haven't received what they paid for, or would need to finally ship the items ordered. Perhaps she should even throw in something extra (of value, not pencil sharpeners), like a matching pair of earrings or something similar, to show that she is both VERY sorry and very serious about rebuilding her reputation. Even if people have been given refunds or were forced to file for chargebacks with their credit card companies, she should maybe send them a gift of good faith anyway.

Basically, she would have to earn everyone's trust again, but I don't think that's impossible.

I think only one or two people were really being negative, everyone else was just expressing their opinion on how this behavior is unacceptable when running a business, which is very true and not necessarily speaking negatively about someone.

As for Elana being kicked repeatedly...I have to say this is incorrect. She is not here to be kicked. She isn't here at all. If she were here, attempting to explain herself and rectify the situation and people were then calling her a scammer and not allowing her the chance to try and redeem herself, that would be kicking her when she's down. I think many people's opinions would change if she were to come on here and apologize for her actions, or inactions as the case may be, and things would calm down. No one here can "let her stand up" because she isn't trying to, at least not at the moment.

What business (let alone person in this day and age) doesn't have an answering machine or voicemail or something? I understand that there are many web based businesses but at least for customer service's sake there should be some way to get someone on the phone, no?
 
That's how scammers work -- they gain trust so they can take your money.

The fact that people are still sticking up for her proves what a good job she did. All the evidence is right there yet people don't want to use the word 'scammer' -- :shrugs:

I'm certainly very sorry for what has happened to the OP, and Lovely, as well. All I can say is what I've experienced. As noted, I had two amazing transactions with Elana, and received pearls better than I expected.

If this has all been one giant scam, she's done a very poor job of it. The number of satisfied customers far outnumber those who are unhappy. I suspect the vast number of people posting to this thread have had no interaction with Elana what-so-ever.

I'm in no way happy about what's happened in recent months with FF. It's sad to see any business fall, and even sadder to hear of customers being neglected.

Personally, I will wait until further information is available before I raise the "nevr again" flag.
 
I will get a second evaluation. It may take some time since I gave them to my niece.

After reading what people having dealt with her have said, I am inclined to think that my guy made a mistake with the "value" of the earrings. That is more likely than him not having made a mistake, when comparing the outcome of those that have had people look at their items.

I have got refund from my credit card today but it is provisional refund because my bank still does some investigation and involves also some parties as I live in Switzerland and the transaction was made internationally. If I don't hear any news from my bank in few weeks, I will get back my money definitively.

All the processes were organized by the bank and NOT from her. She has never responsed or contacted me since I made the order on her website.

I am so happy for you, **fingers crossed*** that in a few weeks this will all be over for you. It must have been a stressful time for you to deal with this nonsense....it's too bad the business owner didn't step up to the plate and refund you, it was really her responsibility to make this right, not the bank...regardless I am happy for the outcome!!!
 
According to Elana she wasn't answering her phone or had a machine because the telephone company messed up and were forwarding her calls to a wrong number. She stated that on a different forum.
