seems like most SAs there play that game. the SA i worked with said i would have to spend more the get a B/K, this was after i spent over 2k. she said i would need to consistently spend for a while before getting a bag.

i agree that the games come with the SM's approval so probably all the SAs are like that. That is a pity since the other NJ H is not like that.

the last time i went to the short hills store, the SA i spoke to said they had nothing in the back. mind you while i was waiting to speak to someone, one of the SAs was listing what they had in the back to another customer standing right next to me! :blah:

Ugh - Egads no! Out of curiosity, has anyone had a good experience with this boutique?

I normally do my shopping in the city, but honestly the high tax rates do hurt. I was considering diverting some scarf purchases to short hills or riverside. Would love to hear anyone's reasons for preferring one location over the other.

I was talking with a consignmnt ownr who has a lot of H clients today. SH came up and i was complaining about how much it sucks and she replied - yeah, that's what I heard from all of my clients. lol.

as for scarf stock, I think SH has a very slight edge. Seems to have more stock usually and have printouts of all the cws of the spring scarves so that you can reserve in advance since they seem to have a waiting list for everything :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

I've never had a "bad" Short Hills H experience before, but I agree, their staff in general seems a bit "colder," than Riverside's is. Or, it could be that Riverside H is just completely over the top nice, it's hard to say. At Riverside, I feel I can act more like "myself" and just look and chit chat with that group (they are very friendly and genuinely personable), whereas, at Short Hills, I act more like on my "best behavior," and generally have no expectations of finding anything really special there. I've had good luck at Short Hills with scarves and bought my latest bag there, but I wouldn't rely on them much to look for and/or find anything special for me. They are definitely more business/sale related I think than Riverside, who seems more people-oriented, if that makes sense. I would think though, that since they know they are in an H-dense area, with Riverside, Madison, Wall Street, KOP, Manhassett, and Greenwich all within a relatively short drive (hey, I'd drive an hour and a half to another boutique if that meant impeccable service or my HG was there!), they'd step up their game a bit. Needless to say, no one at Short Hills has ever been flat out rude to me, and their scarf selection is usually very good (and no sales tax on scarves!!!)...so if it takes a little "H-gaming" to get the items I want, then I'll play :smile1: I just don't expect to win all the time :p

They a great selection on scarves and twillys. Also there are no taxes on shoes in New Jersey, I saved a lot when I bought my boots there

I completely agree with you. I've never had a "bad" experience at short hills, but I'm running out of things to buy there to keep playing the H game. Already spent 5k :( May I ask which store in the NY/NJ is best to get a special bag? Madison?

Thanks all for the honest feedback. I might take a chance and start reaching out to them for a few things as during my trip I meet 2 SAs who were both super friendly. Will report back on how it goes!

as long as it's not a B or K, Madison. it's one of 4 flagships in the world after all.

Hi- I live close by the riverside square mall H store. Can someone recommend a SA? I'm looking to purchase a scarf I saw in a magazine. I pull out the picture and I ask around on the form for the name but not sure if this scarf hits USA yet. Does river side square take down reversvatio for scarf ??
