shopping with friends?

Alone, then I can focus on me and stay for as short or as long as I want. If I'm just going for a laugh because I'm bored then friends are fun to shop with because I'm not actually trying to shop.

I go alone or with my SO, he doesn't rush or annoy me and he's my best friend so we always have fun shopping together. I need to concentrate and think while shopping and with friends they just distract me way too much and my sister makes comments on what I spend on my clothes so I avoid shopping with her at all.

I like shopping with Hubby. I enjoy his yay or nay input and we often go out to eat and to a movie. :)

I do enjoy window shopping with friends. But if I intend to ACTUALLY shop... Not so much, as I feel bad buying things for myself if my friend isn't shopping too. The exception to this is craft stores, thrift shops and dollar stores. Where we'll splurge on junk food and craft items and then go home and goof with it all.

Alone. None of my friends are into high end clothes/bags/shoes/jewelry. In fact, the last time I went into Tiffany to pick up some cheapy champagne glasses for my wedding, they made endless jokes..... all in fun but it got old quickly.

Generally I like shopping alone. If I do shop with someone else I tend to just browse, make mental notes on what I like, and buy them at a later date.

I can spend hours in a store... especially shoe stores. Shopping is theraputic for me, and I hate feeling rushed! My mom is the worst to shop with, she's antsy after five minutes.

i love to shop with my husband or my sister (or both!), but my parents are OK too. my dad is patient and collects watches, so the designer shopping i do is nothing in comparison to the watches he covets. my mom is simply too picky and can be a debbie downer, but overall she's OK.

so basically my immediate family is fine. i have one close friend i can shop with (we have been BFFs since we were in our early teens and have shared many of our first high end purchases over the years), but the rest are too judgmental about purchases whether it's their opinion of the piece or the price. i couldn't really care less about their opinion on either, so i stick to fluff shopping with them like makeup and perfume.

my MIL.

forget it.

if it isn't from winner's (canadian tj maxx/ross/etc.), it's overpriced for her and she's all too happy to let you know it. the thing is winner's (and canada in general) IS overpriced in many cases, but whatever.

It honestly depends. If I am going somewhere like Nordstrom Last Call or anywhere that I know I am going to spend a lot of time digging through racks, I prefer to be by myself. If I am going to the mall or a department store, I like to bring my girlfriends with me.

I do find, however, that when I go to the mall with girlfriends, we typically like to have drinks beforehand which is never a good idea when you are going shopping. Oh, my poor bank account......

I usually prefer to be alone. I can sometimes shop with my mom - after all, she taught me to shop, so we have similar styles! But normally I feel like I am boring other people if I try on clothing or shoes. A day "shopping" with friends usually means meandering through some stores, having lunch and talking and maybe buying a few accessories that I don't need to try on or spend too much time thinking about.

It sounds like tPFers should get together and shop because no one else understands!

I hear you! We should because if I DARE go into Saks *gasp* my friends just get real nervous. Come on, it is only a store!!! It drives me nuts! Plus, the price range in a store like that can be anywhere from $100 to a couple thousand, so not everything is really that expensive.

i love shopping with my mom and do most of it with her. if she likes something enough on me, she will pay for it :D especially things she considers "worth it." (like bra's from vs during semiannual). our tastes are usually in line, there are only a couple of exceptions. like oversize neon tank tops i bought. also, if something does not look good on me, she is honest. which is also a plus. also, shopping for me = mom/daughter bonding time. :)

Depends, when it's just fun shopping then sure but if I'm looking for something in particular I like to shop by myself just because I like to take my time and would feel bad about making my friends wait for me!

Hey girls!
Do you prefer shopping with your friends or alone? I always love to go to mart with my friends and shop while gossiping and eating and drinking :) its always fun day and i am planning to have a fun day this weekend again.
i am excited :yahoo:

with friends if I'm not in the mood to buy.. just window shop

alone if I am in the mood to buy.. I know what I like and don't need a lot of other opinions.
