shopping with friends?

I love to shop with my neice and one of my sisters that has very similar taste to mine. Being that we are all the same size and love handbags and shoes we take turns dumping money on these items. They are the best to shop with.

Alone...and now I have this friend asking me to take her to costco. I go there with a list and wander around trying to find everything I need. taking her would make me into a tour guide. I did it once before and she didn't buy anything.

Alone. I really like to take my time looking. Sometimes I will look at something, get a coffee or snack to think about it and then make my purchase. If I feel rushed in any way I won’t buy anything. I also tend to spend more on single items than my friends do.

I do like helping friends shop but usually don’t buy for myself on these occasions. If I have a specific item in mind that is not a high cost item I will buy it on an excursion with a friend.

I haven't agreed to this nor have I said no. I keep thinking if I just do nothing, it will go away. and then the husband approaches me and asks when I'm going to costco

For me it depends if I am in a rush or not. I also live in a walkable city so sometimes I decide to do a bit of window shopping when I'm strolling around by myself  But I do love making plans with a friend to go shopping + out for lunch or a coffee date, especially when there's an event like a sample sale!

I prefer to shop on my own for my wardrobe needs.
I happen to like going to gourmet stores with a friend & making an afternoon of it (lunch & coffee date)
especially in certain parts of Paris & NYC ..
Taking someone to Costco would not be a big deal to me. There can be some fun
going up & down the aisles & sharing comments. If someone buys that works if not, it's
a day out to do something nice for a "friend"

well for me, in addition to just being a distraction from what I have to do, there would be coordinating the time with her and the transportation.....would I be expected to go 7 or more miles out of my way to pick her up and another 7 to drop her off at home.

@sdkitty, you always seem to have an explanation for doing something that might benefit a friend
15 miles round trip doesn't seem so challenging, at least not for me.
Friends do go out of their way if they choose to, it's really up to the individual
By the way, did you tell your friend you were making a trip to Costco, or did she ask out of the blue?
Did or would you ask the husband to drop her off at your house & pick her up when your Costco
errands are done? Is she asking because she doesn't have a membership at Costco?
Do what you like, but taking a friend out to Costco whether she buys or not doesn't seem a big deal, JMO

Not sure what you are alluding to

I'm alluding to that a friend asked to go with you to Costco. Whether she buys or not seems irrelevant to me, JMO
You either want to take her or you don't You either want to go the distance or not
But did you tell her you were going or did she ask you?
And why not ask her husband to drive her to your home & pick her up when your
Costco errand is done?
If you prefer shopping ALONE, then perhaps think about who you are having conversations with
about shopping be it Costco or elsewhere, JMO

For me, if I need to run and get something specific, I like to go myself. But often my friends and I, or my sister in law, make a day of shopping, with breakfast or lunch. We like to get each other's opinions on certain things. They often think of things I don't necessarily. And we have an annual girls holiday shopping trip to a mall about 2 hours from home. It's a great trip. These days are more about bonding and catching up. Sometimes we don't buy anything but have a great day spending time with each other.
