^ daisyheadlights, MG does not charge tax if the shipping address is outside New York. However, if you are shipping overseas, depending on where, your local government may impose tax/duties depending on the value of the item that was shipped. This tax is charged and payable to the government although you will usually pay the amount to the courier service (in this case, Fedex) as they would clear it for you.

If you are in HK, it's a free port so there are no import taxes or goods tax. However, if you are in Singapore, I think it's 7% GST if the declared value is above $400.

So I missed the fedex guy today (pick up is 1hr away bc ground shipping :thumbdown::thumbdown

But do far no tax or duty request from them hope they don't figure it out bf I get it tomorrow

I didn't get any tax or duty request duribg fedex delivery 3 days ago. However, some googling seems to confirm that it will definitely be billed, usually mailed about a week later and with an additional "tax forwarding fee" since fedex first paid the tax on behalf. When I received mine, the paperwork ziploc packet was open, and MG's declared value was facing up. Pretty sure they (fedex) noted it.

Okay, I will update here! I am waiting for the bill with bated breath. Also quite sore over my other purchase too. Didn't check ****** before buying, I could have gotten 3.5% cash rebate from shopbazaar.

Edit: not sure why the rebates site name is showing up as **s. Is it a banned word/site here?

I've called Fedex today, and the person said that I have to contact MG for them to fax the invoice to Fedex.

I have had similar issues with an overseas shipment (not Mansur Gavriel)-it should be easy enough for MG to fax it to Fedex.

Thanks for the reply! I've heard that MG has received tons of emails since the Tuesday relaunch. I am scared that Fedex would ship the bag back to MG, and that MG will not reply me asap.

My bag ordered at the relaunch arrived in Singapore three days ago. No additional tax was charged.
Another bag I ordered arrived at my forwarder Comgateway today. I've yet to ship it, will update about the tax when I do.

I received my bag from the restock in Singapore 3 days ago too! I'm fully expecting a bill a week later from Fedex though. When I saw Fedex on MG's shipping notification, I knew I'd have to pay. Fedex seems to be 100% check. Also, Fedex tracking showed "Clearance delay - Import" the day after the parcel arrived in Singapore, which is likely due to Fedex declaring and paying the GST to customs.

My lady bag is shipped with UPS/vpost though. I don't have experience with UPS/vpost, not sure how compliant they are.
