Amazing! Do you mind sharing which day of week was this? Wonder if I will have better luck visiting on a shipment day

It was on Saturday around 3 o'clock in the afternoon and the shops were closed the following Sunday and Monday:) it was a national holiday on Monday the 11th of September so my plans for a shopping weekend didn't work out though I was lucky to get a Birkin;)

Thank you! I was able to get a Lindy and GP at one of the Barcelona store. Will try for one last time tomorrow (happens to be Saturday!) wish me luck!

I've just been through Barcelona, Marbella and Lisbon in search of a Berline 21 mini. No luck! Getting really frustrated with unhelpful SAs who just shake their heads in disbelief that I even dared to ask! Berline is not even that hard. I'm at a complete loss where to get it. Bought a shawl in Barcelona and was told that "they literally have zero bags available". Clearly not the case since a lady a few posts above was offered a Birkin. I'm so annoyed and confused and just wanted to vent. :(((

I was just in the Passeig de Gracia store today. They had very limited inventory on bags, but more than I thought they would have, based on what I've seen on the forum. There were a few all leather GPs, with some basic colors. They had some mini plumes and one medium. I asked for Lindy and Evelyne and the SA said they had none... I didn't ask about B/K but I did ask about almost every other kind of bag! I ended up with a mini Halzan in Rose swift, and a Bearn wallet in etoupe Epsom - it wasn't on display, the SA brought it out when I kept asking for bags they didn't have. They were quite busy when I came in, but after waiting a bit, the SA I found was very nice and attentive, and I did get the sense that they were showing me most of what they had in the store. FWIW I am Asian-American, young, and I didn't dress up, and obviously a tourist, since I don't speak Spanish, and they were very welcoming.

Wanted to share results from the Spain trip last month.
Madrid - tried both stores. absolutely nothing and rather rude. The SA said I'll need to spend another few grands to even be considered to get a Lindy!
Barcelona - Very good experience at both stores. Ended up getting 2 GPs and 1 Lindy, and a few other accessories. It appears that it totally depends on whether they got inventory when you get there.

Visited Barcelona Passeig de Garcia store, polite and nice SAs. Wasn't looking for any bag but managed to find my white Oran sandals which wasn't available in Heathrow airport nor displayed in Harrods.
SA was patient and helpful, brought out a couple of Oran sizes and Legend Wedge for me to try. Packed my stuff with a few complimentary fragrance samples. Overall a pleasant experience.

i am back in Barcelona and yesterday I stopped in to the Hermes Diagonal shop within El Corte Ingles. I have been there often and was never offered a bag when I had asked for a GP or a Lindy despite buying other things there. I had planned on going to the main shop on Paseo de Gracia but thought I'd check at the other one since I was passing by. There were four or five GPs sitting on the shelf in colors including bordeaux, and etoupe. I asked the SA if they had a GP in black and she said no but that they could probably get one for me within a few days. I also asked about a Lindy and she said no but that maybe they would receive one.

She asked what color I wanted in the Lindy and I said bordeaux or dark blue in size 30 She took my name and number and said she'd call me if they got any. Honestly I had zero expectation that I would hear from them based on my previous experience. The GP and Lindy I bought in Barcelona were at the main Gracia shop and even there it took great persistence. .Imagine my surprise when she called me this morning and offered me a Lindy 30 in Blue nuit with GH. I was shocked. I zipped right over and picked it up! There were still two GPs , an Evelyne, and a tool box on the shelf today.

I think maybe tourism is down perhaps from the political issues going on here because from my experience and those who posted above, suddenly it doesn't seem so hard to get a bag here. The city seems a little less busy than usual ( I spend a lot of time here) and today, for example, there was a general strike called and the city really seemed a bit empty. So I'd say if you are near Barcelona and want a bag give it a try!

Oh dear, I’m sorry to hear that many TPFers have had terrible experiences in Barcelona. I’m currently in Barcelona and am having a very pleasant experience with the SAs here. They have been very friendly and helpful. On my first visit, they didn’t have what I wanted (I considered a black toolbox 20 but decided it against it). I wanted a small bag and a shawl in a specific color. I bought a silk scarf that day and my SA told me to just come by during my stay as they do get new deliveries often since it’s the xmas period. I popped by the next morning and they still haven’t had any new delivery. But when I returned that evening, the SA brought out a box without me even asking and said I have something for you, it’s very special and I think you’ll love it. It was a L26 bleu indigo/rose pourpre eclat! Which I bought without hesitation. My SA told me to just come around for the next few days (as they still haven’t gotten stock for my shawl). I only bought a silk scarf before being offered the bag and I am an Asian tourist so I don’t think it’s fair to say H Barcelona (the main store) is terrible and racist. There are definitely nice SAs around! Good luck everyone!

Beaten to death topic but it sounds as if the bag situation has improved over time in Barcelona - I am heading there in the next couple of months and would like to search for my first B. I note the recent success from one poster - any particular tips apart from being a polite and friendly human being? I do plan on buying some other smaller things like belts and scarves etc
