Hi i know how you feel having wide feet, if your new to wearing heels like others say try to go to a large store and just try on as many as you can just to get a good idea on how the brands fits and feels.
I agree Tony Burch dose fit wide and some are realy nice, my favs are louboutins but they fit narrow to standard i think, Jimmy Choo omg there narrow i have 3 pairs all pumps and my big toe joints kill me in them, i have the most terrible shaped feet and suffer in my shoes to look nice i hope you find a nice brand that fits well good luck.

I've got wide feet too. I don't wear heels all that often but I've gone 2.75 - 4" heels for special events. I look for toes that are either super pointy toes or slightly boxy. With the pointy toes, I give my size some leeway because the toes are not actually squashed in the pointy part of the shoe, but rather just beyond the open part, if you KWIM.

I wear the boxy toe heels like dancing shoes (Carpezios etc) because my formal style leans toward the flapper look so it works.

I have gotten super comfortable dance shoes like Leo's T-strap (for flamenco?) and put a heavy duty tread over the sole. Formal dancing shoes are not really made for walking but they are extremely comfortable for me with extra tread over the soles.

You would not want to do this to a pair of CLs, but I always get my heels over-soled with a sturdy tread (my heels are black, and new rubber treads or not as noticeable) so I can walk confidently across a shiny floor or slippery carpet/stairs. It's always helped me immensely. The only thing it won't help is keep you from falling if you're accident prone like I am LOL. But it cuts down on the slippage and wobbly ankles.

I also look for peep toes or shoes that have a lot of cutwork or strappy heels to let my feet breathe. I won't put myself in discomfort like I did when I was younger. I still want to look nice.

I also have very wide and big feet and and I DO NOT recommend CL's. To begin with they are actually meant to enhance the look of people with narrow feet. I have read that somewhere here on TPF and on people's blogs a few times. I can totally relate to your desire for a pair of gorgeous red heels! To be honest, since you have a smaller foot, you should go into the store and see if you could try a 39-40 on in CL's. The extra length might help with the wide foot depending on the style.

And I have tried Jimmy Choos, they are definitely pretty awesome for my wide feet. Another brand that has a lot of stretch in the leather are Bloch, but they make mostly flats. I also tried on Giuseppe Zanotti 4 inch heels. I went with my true EU size and could have gone up a size to accommodate my wide feet. And as everyone has said Tory Burch Revas are good, but after a while they start to give blisters.

Being able to fit a wide shoe is also dependent very much on the style of the shoe. I have somewhat wide feet, but can fit most brands, but DD has wider feet, and has few options. If you can find a really good SA to help, they can find shoes that work. We did one trip in NM where one person treated her like that store treated Julia Roberts in "Pretty Woman" and said there was nothing there for her. I had bought 3 pairs that day, and DD was really bummed. Luckily since my usual SA was not there, a really nice other one overheard the exchange and said he could find her shoes. After working with him, we got a pair of Manolos, Mui Mui, and Brian Atwood and she was elated. Prior to that, she thought she would be stuck with wide Payless shoes forever (she was about 14 at the time). She ended up with one pair of flats (the Mui Mui) and two heels, one a sandal and one a pump. Hope this helps!

CL's are fabulous! Yes they do run a bit narrow but usually it's quite easy to get them widened. I suggest taking them to a quality cobbler in your area to ask if that particular pair (depends on material) can be widened. They do a great job and it's quite inexpensive. :)

My boyfriend has kinda wider feet and he has some CLs that fit but a lot of them seem to run pretty narrow. Manolos and Jimmy Choos are def narrow. He has a bunch of Tory Burch that fit good and def would recommend Jeffrey Campbell if you have wider feet.

With my wide feet, I find that I can only wear some Jimmy Choo styles, but most CL do fit. If you buy at a store such as NM, they will help you choose the best styles for wide feet, and they will also stretch the shoes a bit at no cost. :)

I have wide feet too and CLs were just a nightmare. Jimmy Choos were kind of okay. I definitely love YSL, its the most success I've had out of high end shoes. Alexander Wang makes good shoes too.

I feel your pain. I have really wide feet too. I have found that Prada is one of the best brands to buy if you have wide feet. Most Manolo Blahnik fit me well too. Jimmy Choo is usually too narrow for me so I don't own any pairs. Givenchy might be another option for you as their leather is very soft and has a lot of give. Oh, and Chanel leather is also very soft and gives quite a bit as well. You might want to try Valentino, I have a pair of their flats and the leather is amazingly soft as well.

As far as CL goes, don't give up just yet. If you're looking for really high heels, try the new Soso (I got a pair last month). I also can fit into the No Prive as well as the Cathay (which I don't believe you can find in store anymore).

It's really about trial and error -- find a salesperson who knows you have wide feet and let them help make suggestions.

Oh, and regarding wearing shoes barefoot -- 99% of the time I do wear them barefoot, but I live in California so that's why. Sometimes with flats I'll wear Peds (the no-show kind) to avoid any rubbing.

Ferragamo actually comes in wide sizes, which I've found really useful in the past... You do usually have to buy from a boutique, though -- the department stores usu only have standard widths.

I've also had good luck with some Manolo styles -- the d'orsays in particular have a lot of give and can actually make wide feet look slimmer (I think so, anyway!). Might be worth a try :)

Thanks for the tip about the valentinos! I loved some of their lace & bow collection last year but wasn't sure they'd be comfortable... Now I want to go take another look!

For Valentino, you can't go with their stiffer leather -- you have to go for the super pliable leather. Their lace and bow collection doesn't have the soft leather that previous seasons had. The flats I have are the ones with the rosettes on top.

Thanks!! Will def keep this in mind :)

think I've seen those rosette flats at bergdorf before -- did they come in baby pink? I remember really liking everything about them besides that they were only in a 35.5.... Grrr!

Not sure about baby pink, I have them in hot pink. They also were made in a dark blue denim. It's been a while so I don't remember all the colors. I think they may have made them in red too.
