So you can actually try them on in store? Do they not have the hygiene policy that most jewellery stores do? I bought a pair of diamond studs online once and I couldn’t even take them out of the cellophane to see if I liked them because then the return would be void! Needless to say it annoyed me so much I sent them back anyway out of principle!! From what everyone is saying the posts sound REALLY thick!!!When I tried them on in the store they were totally fine. I bought them on holiday and wore them for a few days straight. 2 days, still ok. By the 3rd or 4th day my ears started bleeding slightly and felt very tender...then I came to purseforum and learnt that the posts are thicker which could be what causes this issue. That said I don't wear earrings that much nowadays so perhaps my ears weren't used to it either. But the posts are def thicker.
There are tactics to make your ears more "prepped" for them (wear another pair of studs first to "open" up the earholes!) Or even just get the posts swapped outso don't let this stop you!
Oh damn, that's still the same as when I checked with my SA in January then. Thanks for sharing!
To me, none of the earrings I’ve tried on were too thick. Some are definitely too short, however, and I have average lobe thickness. I also don’t like the pointed ends on short LaPousette posts because it can get caught or scratch inside my ear lobe.So you can actually try them on in store? From where i am based, our VCA stores allow customers to try on but i have come across other stores in different country that do not allow that. Definitely SA will sanitise the posts with alcohol swab/pad before customers putting on. Although, if you’re ordering earrings (vs. stores getting free inventory) my SAs would let me the 1st to try and they wouldn’t let the other customers to try on.So you can actually try them on in store? I can say that more or less both are of same size but because of the shape, perhaps frivole can give a slightly (i mean just slightly) bigger vibe as vintage alhambra is flat. You can refer to post #508 where I posted 3 pair of VCA earrings including Two-Butterfly for comparisonWondering if the small Frivole pave earrings and the vintage Alhambra pave earrings are about the same size. Does anyone have both? Which would you prefer? Can't decide on these two.

Have you tried them both on at the boutique? I feel these are so different and for some odd reason I personally don’t like the Alhambra pave on my face when I tried it on even though I have the necklace and bracelet. But I immediately fell in love with the small Frivole and didn’t feel like it was too big or overwhelming, and the 3D shape is just beautiful. If you’re stuck between the two try them both on each ear and see how you feel about each of them when you see yourself in the mirror? I would say Alhambra gives a more casual feel despite being pave while Frivole feels more feminine and dressy. I think it’s because it looks more delicate with the 3D work and less metal showing compared to the thicker beaded edge of the Alhambra. It depends how you style with outfits too of course but that’s how I feel. Here’s a recent photo of my Frivoles, and another one of me wearing my sister’s Alhambras, hope it helps!Wondering if the small Frivole pave earrings and the vintage Alhambra pave earrings are about the same size. Oh, thank you for the photos. Unfortunately I don't live anywhere near a boutique, but I do have an SA I am working with for other items. I live a very casual lifestyle now and want something I can wear often, with a little bling.Have you tried them both on at the boutique? You can’t go wrong either way, both are beautiful! But if you want something that goes with all outfits regardless of occasion I would say the Alhambra is more accommodating than the floral 3D of Frivole. Just my opinion of course. Good luck with your purchase!!Oh, thank you for the photos. Unfortunately I don't live anywhere near a boutique, but I do have an SA I am working with for other items. My gosh this is terrible customer service by changing up the policy like that. It’s not like we aren’t paying premium prices for their products already. I really don’t like the new direction they’re going in where they nickel and dime everything and even skimp out on the packaging under the pretense of being more eco friendly. It’s really very disappointing and has made me lose my passion for the brand..Just want to share my recent experience, see if this is what you have experienced too.
recently one of my frivole earring post got loose from the screw, so i asked my SA, can you please solder it so it won't get loose again? Her response: yes, we can, but we are charging $180 to do it. I said: but they are purchased within a year, I thought it's free of charge within a year. she said: new policy, doesn't matter if it's within a year of purchasing, we will charge $180 for soldering now.
I was disappointed, only asked to tighten it, not soldering, as I didn't really want to pay $180 to do it.
