Depends on how much you like the sweet size. I personally love sweet size ear studs and I wear mine more than any other pair of earrings. I also am a stud person. I find the sweet size very wearable. And I am also a person that loves hidden jewelry and I enjoy knowing I have them on. Most of the time I don’t care whether people see it and many times would rather they not. And I think the carnelian sweets are so cute. I would wear them all the time.
Yes, I agree. I often wear long sleeves and no one sees my bracelets. I use my bags and jewelry for myself, not for others to see. I think if you’re lucky enough to have the sweet size look good on you, you should go for it.

I go through phases that all I wear are dainty pieces and then other times, normal sized, lol!

Enjoy the sweets.

I have just done had my sweet posts converted to the longer, thinner posts as well (I am in North America). They are so much more comfortable now. I am so pleased to hear that that this option has been helpful for you as well.
A friend alerted me to these posts and I am VERY interested because I'd love to replace the posts on my Perlee Turquoise earrings! When I sent mine in, they just gave me push backs instead of LaPoucette! But that short pointed post gets caught in my piercing and just doesn't work for me. So it seems like if they can remove posts from Sweets that they could on Perlee. Was this at a US boutique?

Thank you so much for your reply. I too am a fan of a set and that’s why I thought the carnelian studs would be a lovely addition. I also like them because I have tiny earlobes and the vintage size would just simply be way too big for me. Also I think the sweets are perfect for casual daywear whereas I feel the vintage size to be slightly more formal on me. I don’t really mind that they will be a bit hidden, I think a glimpse is really cute. I am still really very much drawn to the studs, it was his comment that there was too much matching going on that really annoyed me! I don’t think there would be too much matching, just a considered collection! I think I will probably buy them and then get the tiger eye bracelet next year all being well.
I actually am oddly opposed to matching and I know I am in the minority. HOWEVER, sweets are an exception. I have the pave sweet studs and the pave six motif bracelet and I wear them together all the time. And the matchiness does not bother me at all because they are sweet sized. I would venture to say that the majority of the VCA lovers here love some level of matching so your husband and I are in the minority. I consider it a problem with my brain. Maybe your husband and I are similarly afflicted. I think you are fine.

My frivole minis had a post that was too thick for my piercings. I bought them online but I had them replaced at the San Francisco store. They remained with la pousette backs and are very comfortable now. I had to pay for this service since I purchased them right before Covid and were not a big priority for me to fix.

Yes, it was through the 5th Ave Boutique in New York. It made a big difference for me!

I think based on my preference and your responses that I’ll go with my gut and get the earrings. I love the mixture of overt and discreet pieces and I know I will love wearing them. I think I’ll just go on my own to buy them so he can’t talk me out of it! Also, it was never meant to be a big purchase, just a nice way of spending an unexpected bonus. I only wear diamond studs at the moment so they’ll be a nice alternative pair and I know I’ll wear them a lot. Just one more thing, I’ve read here repeatedly that the sweet posts are thick and uncomfortable- is this true?

I had very small piercings before and then I got used to the thicker gauge of the sweets. However I have very thin earlobes. If you have thicker earlobes you may need to ask VCA to swap the posts for longer ones. If the thick ones bother you VCA can also swap them for thinner ones as well. Check with your SA.

I’d try them first! No issues at all wearing the thick posts for me, but definitely causes issues for others.

The sweet were uncomfortable for me in one ear only. I had to send them back.

Not sure where to share but my VCA SM in Asia has updated that mini earrings with the fixed posts (non-screw) can now be altered to be thinner and/ or longer at no extra charge. This is very good news for me as I cannot wear the standard thicker, shorter posts on all their earrings.
I checked with my SA she said can be done at SGD260. Bummed that it is chargeable but since I've gotten used to mine I will not do anything to it for now.

When I tried them on in the store they were totally fine. I bought them on holiday and wore them for a few days straight. 2 days, still ok. By the 3rd or 4th day my ears started bleeding slightly and felt very tender...then I came to purseforum and learnt that the posts are thicker which could be what causes this issue. That said I don't wear earrings that much nowadays so perhaps my ears weren't used to it either. But the posts are def thicker.

There are tactics to make your ears more "prepped" for them (wear another pair of studs first to "open" up the earholes!) Or even just get the posts swapped out :) so don't let this stop you!

Oh damn, that's still the same as when I checked with my SA in January then. Thanks for sharing!

You'll only need to wear it until your ear holes get used to them. Trust me I went from swollen to bleeding to normal now

That's great to know, I immediately went to put them on

I admit I haven't been wearing them much or putting in effort to "condition" my ears. My ears haven't been sensitive but they don't seem to like VCA earrings.... my VA earclips are also too tight I think. My left ear isn't very happy after wearing them, but I only wear at most 1x a week and not every week so I haven't done anything about it, I ought to though..
