I have a similar problem with VCA earrings - the posts are two thick and clasps are too tight for my ears. Almost every VCA earring that I have purchased caused my ears to hurt and bleed. I was alarmed when this happened the first time, but it just seems to be the way things are with VCA earrings and my ears. So I kind of doubt that it’s an infection in your case, it is probably the reaction to wearing earrings that are too tight.

VCA can change out the posts to longer, thinner posts. They can also loosen the clasp on the earrings. This has resolved the problem for me with all of my earrings. However, I’ve never asked about switching the post to the top hole, so I don‘t know whether it’s possible to do that and change out the posts.
Thank you! My SA was trying to advise not to loosen since the earring will sag a little … trade offs I suppose.

Is there a reason why they default to such short/thick posts? I am wondering.

It definitely got infected - it bled and then the next day the whole lobe was red and swollen and hurt (It fortunately got better after a day or two but I never had this happen before it was a little worrisome).

I wore my VA earrings today and it was totally fine.. I think with enough rest days its fine, but I would like to be able to wear these in theory daily and not need rest days. Especially with the Frivoles. I will ask all the qs when I go in on Thursday ;)

I had my Frivoles adjusted also, I had a similar problem with the left earring feeling tight and leaving my earlobe swollen and red at the end of the day. They adjusted the tightness (they can request in millimeters how much for the service loosen it) and that fixed the issue for me.

I had a pair of Alhambra earrings switched to the longer posts before as well as loosening by 1 mm, but they are almost double the length and I didn't really like the way they looked and felt if that makes sense. In my case with the small amount of loosening on the clip, it didn't matter with my earlobe about long vs short posts for security so I had them switched back.

I had asked for some posts to be soldered on and somehow servicing missed the request and didn't do it. I didn't notice right away, they must have been tight in (I would have noticed wobblying!). Now... my posts are pretty wobbly on those earrings after two weeks of basically daily wear. They're bigger earrings, so maybe the extra weight or size makes it easier for the posts to unscrew? Or perhaps they weren't screwed in terribly tightly to begin with? in any case - I'll be sending them in for soldering as soon as I get a label to do so.

But I would definitely say try them on with the longer posts before having them soldered in, because now that they're no longer waiving servicing fees willy nilly (in the US at least!) it'll cost $180 USD to unsolder them! Soldering the posts (or not) won't have any affect on getting clip clearance adjustments in future.

Oh no! Do you know when they changed the policy for earring adjustments? I thought it was complimentary for earrings

May I ask why did lengthening the post change the look/feel? So you ended up staying the with shorter post? Did you change the thickness of the post (what is the difference for this?)

It didn't feel any different weight-wise on the ear, but the longer posts extend a large amount out behind the earlobe past where the clip ends, so it doesn't change how the earrings look from the front but they are visible from the side/back on me since I sometimes have my hair up. Also the length of the post is really much longer and to me felt different to put on and take off. Not sure if that makes sense and probably something that I could have gotten used to over time, but I didn't like it or really need it since I only needed a small amount to be loosened so I had them switched back to the standard length post.

I didn't end up changing the thickness of the post. I have heard there is a chance of damaging your piercings if you use heavier earrings with posts that are too thin based on your individual ear piercing. See what they say at the boutique and maybe try out one adjustment at a time. Your SA maybe be able to change out the posts to longer or thinner ones for you to try there, but adjustments like tightness have to be sent out to service.

It was my first time requesting for adjustments for earclips, and for me in the end I found that I only had to make an adjustment on the tightness and otherwise keep everything else standard to resolve the issue with redness and swelling of my earlobe. It's kind of annoying to have to keep sending the earrings back and forth for adjustments, but totally worth it once you get the right fit!

Dear Ladies,

I ordered the Sweet Alhambra in turquoise. My husband hates them (or maybe he just hates the price :giggle:). He thinks they look like plastic :wtf:. And I was hesitant at first because I usually wear more neutral and dark shades - but now I really like them, especially for summer.

But is it the right color for my winter color type? Attached are two photos, one without makeup and one with makeup. By the way, I have dark blue-gray eyes

I would be very happy to receive your feedback

Love the turquoise with or without makeup on you! It is a very nice and subtle pop of colour in the second photo. Congrats on the purchase!

I love it! I think it will look great with some summery colored outfits, and suspect it will bring out the blue in your eye color when you wear it (especially together with a brighter blue color outfit). Congrats on your pretty purchase!

First, congratulations on your earrings!
I want to say, if you love them, keep them, regardless of what anyone says, including your husband or me.

That said, since you are questioning your purchase and asked for opinions, here are my thoughts...

For you...
You said you wear a lot of neutral/dark shades. Based on your modshot, I assume you wear colors like grey, navy, and black. For me, I do not think turquoise goes great with those dark shades, especially if the clothes are cut tailored such as your jacket and turtleneck in the modshot.

I see turquoise as a summer color, to wear with light summer outfits. I know this is all preference, and some will disagree with me, but I want to share my thoughts for another point of view.

If you plan to wear this as an everyday piece, I would be sure to see if this turquoise works with your wardrobe. I love many pieces of jewelry that I know will not work with my style, so no matter how much I love the piece, I will not buy it as I know it will sit in my jewelry box.

I think the Sweet size is a bit small on you. You have nice features nd bone structure, and I think the classic Vintage size would look fabulous on you and light up your face. You also have long hair, so it will show up more when you don't pull your hair up or tuck it behind your ear as you have done in your photos.

If the above photo is typical of your outfits, I would suggest trying Vintage Mother of Pearl. I think that would look great against your neutral/dark outfits, your hair, your tailored look.

That's just my two cents. Jewelry is 100% a personal choice, so if you love it, keep it, and wear it with everything.
Hope that helps, and congratulations again.

I wear turquoise all the time and love it, but I find the earrings a little small on you, as they are on most people. If that’s your style, dainty earrings, keep them. If dainty isn’t your style, I’d return. I tend to wear both dainty and regular size for earrings, but I never purchased a pair of the sweets, because at its price, they weren’t worth it for me for such dainty earrings. Good luck deciding!
