you look beautiful in both sets! i think they can switch the earring posts to platinum if that will be better for you than the current ones (they're supposedly more hypoallergenic than gold).I ordered the YG frivole and received about 6 months ago and the RG Alhambra my SA offered to me in store last week and grew on me really fast!
I had a q about sizing/fit. The frivoles initially made my ears bleed and I think even got infected (was painful!), and they moved the post higher up since my holes are not very low. My left ear still stings/pinches a bit and I’m wondering if I need to have it loosened.
Now having worn the Alhambra which haven’t been adjusted yet at all they generally are more comfortable from the get-go but the left ear started acting up. I think it’s a slightly thicker lobe.
So I’m bringing both in to be better evaluated next week and send out if necessary. I wanted to know what my options are bc I don’t think my SA will share with me.
Should I ask for longer posts (the metal barely sticks out currently. Is it better to have thinner posts?
Are you supposed to “feel” the earrings after a few hours? The Alhambra seem to fit more comfortably than Frivole but maybe they need to be modified. Are these earrings you could in theory wear every day or do you need rest days for your ears with nothing in them like I do? But maybe this is why they need modification.
Sorry for the ramble - open to feedback!! I’m going back next week Thursday

I have the same thick earlobes with high piercing. I have VA earrings and they moved up the post, but my SA told me if I move up the post, they can’t put on a longer post so I had to choose one or the other. I went with moving the post up because my earlobes are bigger than yours, and the earrings were pinching at the bottom hinge part. I feel like the earrings have gotten more comfortable over time/ my ears got used to them. They were very painful for me at first as well!I ordered the YG frivole and received about 6 months ago and the RG Alhambra my SA offered to me in store last week and grew on me really fast!

IMO you should be able to wear your earrings for as long as you like without feeling pain!I ordered the YG frivole and received about 6 months ago and the RG Alhambra my SA offered to me in store last week and grew on me really fast!

Thank you! Oh I had no idea this could be done. I also didn’t know that gold can trigger a reaction (I’ve always seemed to react to earrings and only use gold). Is this also free of charge? Would you recommend asking for a longer and/or narrower post too?you look beautiful in both sets! i think they can switch the earring posts to platinum if that will be better for you than the current ones (they're supposedly more hypoallergenic than gold).
Im glad to hear it got better. Weirdly I think the Alhambra I don’t need to move up, only the frivole (unless maybe they loosen the hinge on the frivole then it won’t squeeze the love as much).I have the same thick earlobes with high piercing. Thank you! I think I probably need longer posts to even attempt this. It barely sticks out right now when I insert the earrings I don’t think it would fit as it currently is. Do you use both like you have in this pic?IMO you should be able to wear your earrings for as long as you like without feeling pain!
Now my earlobes do get kind of achey after a long day with especially heavy earrings. But that’s a ”dull” ache that rubbing soothes. Actual pain shouldn’t be the case.
To me it sounds like you might be more comfortable with the clips loosened a bit more. But before doing that, do you have any of those little clear stabilizer discs? They come in plastic or silicone (I’m especially partial to the silicone sort). They help avoid pulling on your piercing and they can also distribute the pressure of the back of the omega clip around more of the earlobe - for me those discs make a huge difference in comfort. They’re dirt cheap, too - $5-10 for more than you’ll ever need including all the ones you’ll lose LOL!
Here are the two types that I use - the silicone is about 1mm thick and the plastic is 0.5mm thick.

I don’t! I use one per earring - just glommed them both on for the pic. Sorry for the confusion!Thank you! I think I probably need longer posts to even attempt this. Thank you! Should I ask to get it soldered as well? Or maybe first get the longer post and change pressure make sure everything is perfect. What is the chance the post will fall out if it’s not soldered I wonderI don’t! I use one per earring - just glommed them both on for the pic. Sorry for the confusion!
I do also always get longer posts put in and soldered as well. Same reason as you!
I had asked for some posts to be soldered on and somehow servicing missed the request and didn't do it. I didn't notice right away, they must have been tight in (I would have noticed wobblying!). Now... my posts are pretty wobbly on those earrings after two weeks of basically daily wear. They're bigger earrings, so maybe the extra weight or size makes it easier for the posts to unscrew? Or perhaps they weren't screwed in terribly tightly to begin with? in any case - I'll be sending them in for soldering as soon as I get a label to do so.Thank you! Dang! I’m wondering out loud; do you wear them on the treadmill or vacuuming or cooking / anything with vibration? I’ve had screws loosen (in my bracelet for ex.) even from running/jogging with a stroller. I think that’s what loosens these things up too since they’re torqued in to my knowledge.I had asked for some posts to be soldered on and somehow servicing missed the request and didn't do it. But I would definitely say try them on with the longer posts before having them soldered in, because now that they're no longer waiving servicing fees willy nilly (in the US at least!) it'll cost $180 USD to unsolder them! Soldering the posts (or not) won't have any affect on getting clip clearance adjustments in future.
I would say make sure they’re comfy (right hole, post length okay for you, post thickness comfy) before soldering. No good soldering and then learning there’s something you don’t like and having to pay to undo that! But also just the FYI that having the posts soldered in doesn’t prevent clip clearance adjustments in future.Dang! I suppose I should make sure they feel perfect before soldering them? Or are you saying to solder them and then adjust the clip if needed afterwards.
What’s your opinion on the longer/thinner post versus thicker or shorter?
I have a similar problem with VCA earrings - the posts are two thick and clasps are too tight for my ears. Almost every VCA earring that I have purchased caused my ears to hurt and bleed. I was alarmed when this happened the first time, but it just seems to be the way things are with VCA earrings and my ears. So I kind of doubt that it’s an infection in your case, it is probably the reaction to wearing earrings that are too tight.I ordered the YG frivole and received about 6 months ago and the RG Alhambra my SA offered to me in store last week and grew on me really fast!
