Hi, had to ask my mother. She doesn't know, she's had it for at least 40 years... I'm guessing Kyanite, or just really nice costume stone :smile1: I hope I get to wear it out to a nice dinner engagement one of these days...

Thanks everyone, there are so many major pieces on this thread.

frick&frack, I'm in  love with your gorgeous Kunzite -- did you know Kunzite was named after Tiffany's chief gemologist, George F. Kunz?

rainrowan-- thank you so much! we need to play dress up!!! I would LOVE to try your inherited ring on...ooooooo that color!

yes, I did know that about Kunz. I am a gem-a-holic. I'm trying to collect as wide a variety of the rarer stones that I like as I possibly can collect...all of them untreated, of course. do you have any kunzite?

BTW, did you know that tanzanite was also discovered by Tiffany's scientists? they wanted to name it something that began with "T", & it was discovered in tanzania, so there you go!

OK ladies...I have been searching all over for my large neck forms, but I just can't find them. I decided to go ahead & take pics with the smaller forms.

to start, this piece is keshi pearls (freshwater), rice pearls (freshwater), & moonstone faceted briolettes. keshi pearls are the closest thing to natural pearls. they are made when the oyster rejects the starter bead. they are 100% nacre. the keshi pearls in this piece are very large for a keshi pearl.
