Congrats @yuukei

did someone respond to you? I have a feeling @BigAkoya , @911snowball , @TankerToad , @missie1 , or @nicole0612 , and others might have an opinion as to what would be nice and classic with your sweetheart neckline. . .

personally, I would go for something like a strand of south sea pearls for a wedding pic, bc I wear alhambra very casually*, but then again, it took about two plus decades after I got married for me to grow comfy wearing pearls

*six motif magic GMOP with shorts or travel joggers kind of casual lol
@yuukei
Hi! First, congratulations to you!

I agree with @880 to wear a pearl necklace. It's gorgeous, and the iridescence is beautiful. I would also get matching pearl earrings. Of any day to "match" (if you are thinking it's too formal), your wedding day is the day to do it.
VCA Alhambra is very casual, so I would not wear it for your wedding, certainly not as the bride. And a big no to colored stones; it will just compete with your dress.

In my opinion, the Alhamba quatrafoil/four leaf clover design borders on "logo jewelry" to me, and flashing logo pieces with a wedding dress is not a look that works together, not to me.

Congratulations again to you, and hope this helps in your decision.

I agree with the pearl necklace suggested here as well. One thing before purchasing tennis necklaces that you may already know is that they can sometimes roll and not consistently lay with the diamonds facing up and with the frequent pictures being taken during a wedding, you may find it a bit of a nuisance to check it. I think pearls will be universally flattering and fuss free now and in 50 years when you show your pictures to your future grandkids.

Congratulations @yuukei….now I personally would go for tennis necklace as it’s so elegant and classic and would look amazing with sweetheart wedding dress. I find Alhambra line overall to be very chic yet very casual which is why we love it so much. It definitely can be dressed up but not wedding dress worthy imo. Now pearls would be lovely as well however that I leave to our ladies who know their pearls and I’m a novice.

Thanks a lot for the great suggestions!

I considered pearl when I purchased the 2-motif earrings but decided to go with the latter because as @880 said, I'm not yet comfortable to wear pearls yet. It is somewhat "too" elegant for me at this stage. I feel like I need some more years before it can feel really "me".
In general I'm a very casual and not a mature dresser at all lol I wear a lot of graphic tees daily, even though I am in my late 20s, I still dress like I'm in my teens. I'm trying to gradually move towards more mature clothing but most of the times they don't make me feel like myself. Pearls are very pretty and I do think it goes with wedding dresses so well, but just not me.

My wedding will be on a lawn overlooking the ocean, and not a church wedding so I'm thinking even though the 10-motif may be casual, they are actually perfect for the occasion. For me it's the perfect combo of youthful, classic and elegance. I saw some pics in this old post (https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/is-vca-10-motifs-necklace-good-for-wedding.953000/) and loved them.
I wore the 2-motif to the city hall ceremony and personally loved it.

I know everyone is suggesting against vca and I am definitely thankful for all the replies and congratulations!! But at the end of the day I think I need to feel like myself at the wedding. I will give it more thought tho.

This being the case, I vote that you should try the six motif magic. I love the GMP version, and it’s the only alhambra I wear. I clicked on the link you provided, and I was drawn to post #6  where the bride was wearing the six and not the ten motif. This is bc IMO only, the ten motif is the Alhambra version of a pearl choker. The six is quirky and playful and can be both fun and elegant. Just my two cents

in exchange for all this advice, we want your action pics bc we are nosy and curious lol  ahave fun deciding !

it may be a bit too OT, but both the six motif magic and pearls can be casual; theyre not just dressy. With shorts, athleta travel cargo pants (the middle pic is literally my airplane outfit), and a t shirt and sneakers.

If you already decided you want to wear VCA with your wedding dress, then I vote to get the 10 motif in YG MOP to match your earrings. Any color 10 motif (e.g. malachite, blue agate) is going to compete with your dress, and the dress is the star of the show that day.

Few people remember the jewelry, but everyone remembers the dress. Let the dress be the star.

For something blue...
I expect this is not you, but I will mention it. The Manolo Hangisi satin pump in Blue is just gorgeous. If I was getting married today, I would wear them under my stark white wedding dress.  It's probably not you though.

For something cuter and fun... maybe wear a blue garter underneath your dress as a little personal surprise. Then keep it as a wedding souvenir.

Since you are going all out VCA on your wedding day... Do you mix metals, as in mix YG and WG?
If I was going all out VCA on my wedding day and going casual... for my Something Blue, I would get the Sweet Turquoise earrings and wear it in my second ear piercing. That would be fitting given you are getting married on the ocean.

Just some ideas. Congrats again!

Definitely wear what makes you feel like yourself! Wedding attire is not that serious, and looking back I wish I had just shown up on the day and let other people take care of all of the details, even if I didn't like the specific choices that much, just so that I could enjoy the process and be mentally/emotionally present for it. If you really want to wear the 10 motif and it will make you happy, then just do it, a lot of people dress for fun at their wedding. If you are open to other VCA necklace ideas, would you consider a single pendant? It could be pave, MOP, all-gold, guilloche... that may compliment your dress even more than a 10 motif.

Agree - do the thing that makes you happy!!

One other thought - and sorry if you already killed this idea - but if you’re not set on for sure Alhambra, what about Frivole?

The small or large pave pendant in WG would be killer with a sweetheart neckline imo. It’s still VCA, but maybe less logo-y feel to it? Also can be worn casually any other day

Few pics from Roxy Bijan’s insta for inspiration

If VCA feels like YOU then go for it. I wore pearls at my wedding and I felt like I was being choked, not that it was too tight but they were soooooo not me. And my Mikimotos sat in the safe for 25 years. If I had known about VCA in my 20s I could have bought a MOP 10 motif for sure. I’m smack in middle age and I still wear tons of graphic tees and college hooded sweatshirts (gotta rep my kids’ schools). It’s great that you know who you are and wanna stay true to yourself and what feels authentic and comfortable for you. Hope you get your VCA and get lots of wear from it after the wedding too.

Last attempt with this and adding other pendants…View attachment 5793554
Hi! Since I am in this thread, I'll chime and share my thoughts if I may...

The tennis necklace is basically a thin line necklace... the same repeating pattern, like a "chain necklace with diamonds."
The 10 motif is a bold station necklace, so the two compete, especially when they overlap. My eye goes first to the 10 motif, and the tennis necklace is lost.

It seems like you are trying to stack your tennis necklace, so I'll assume the tennis necklace is the priority piece.
If you want to layer your tennis necklace, I think it works best with another line/chain necklace, or a pendant(s) "under" the tennis necklace.

Because the tennis necklace is so dainty, you really want it to be at the top. The eye will go there first and see it, and it will not get lost. Then, the eye will move down to see your other layered piece.

Since this is the VCA forum, I assume you want to layer it with something VCA. I would try a Magic pendant because it will land lower than your tennis necklace. Your tennis necklace lands a bit low (e.g. not choker length), and I assume you want it that length, but that is also the reason why you need a longer chain to wear below your tennis necklace.

Another thought if you want to stay with VCA and go all out on the neck and very casual, I would wear your tennis necklace with the 6 motif. The tennis necklace will be at the top, like a nice round choker, and it will frame the 6 motif.

Here is a visual... imagine the tennis necklace on top. You may have to adjust the lengths a bit, depending on where the 6 motif lands on you. The photo has the necklace worn high, but it will overlap with your tennis necklace as your tennis is long. I think you wil need to wear the 6 motif low. Basically, the look with the 6 motif is the "layered pendant" look under a tennis necklace. It just happens that all the motifs are VCA, so it's bold. If the lengths do not work, you can always just use other pendants.

If you don't like the "busy layered pendant" look, I would get a beautiful chain necklace and layer it. Now, you have a "chain necklace with diamonds" (e.g. tennis necklace) layered with another beautiful chain necklace. But... the tennis necklace needs to be the top necklace and stand on its own. Lots of beautiful chain necklaces now layered with tennis necklaces. I would personally do this and keep it a choker “chain necklace” theme and not do pendants.

Just my two cents. Hope this helps, and good luck!

It’s funny you mentioned sweet turquoise since I actually have that in my collection (Christmas gift two years ago from DH) and I do have second ear piercings! I will give that some thought :D

Whenever I see your action shots of that gorgeous 6 motif it puts me in the mood to wear mine!

Mine hardly gets to see the light of day these days since my 1 year old would bat at it like a cat. Maybe this weekend it can get some air.

Thank you so much! Yes, of course, your one year old would think it looked like fun charms or a cool candy! :hugs:
hope you can take it for a spin this weekend!

I think one has to be young and gorgeous to layer a diamond riviera necklace with VCA and not have it overpower. Here is a social media pic of Heart Evangelista with hers

She does look so effortless with the layering. BTW I have loved your shots with the 6 motif which had previously never been on my radar. Sadly when I purchased a necklace a week ago and inquired about them, I was told that they were not taking anymore waitlists for it at the moment. Hopefully they will restock sometime soon. I think I felt that it was only a formal piece and I liked how you wore it also casually
