Oh, how I wish I had the multi-quote function!!!

margieb - great thread!!!

piaffe - I love your bags!!

As a librarian, I think piaffe's Birkins are like books that have been well loved, have a little story of its own, and still have some wisdom to share. Ya' know kinda like your favorite cookbook that has wine spilled on it or your favorite travel book that's all bent out of shape and has notes written all over it.

Then there are the others. They remind me of books that have been dropped in the tub, chewed by the dog, and sitting in Aunt Millie's dark and dank attic for the past 30 years but somehow will be made new and shiny with a little love. :wtf:

Exactly! And my cookbooks are a mess of post-it notes, "fixes" and wine stains, LOVE THEM!!

One thing is if I did the wrecking on the train but I would NEVER conisder buying someone else's trainwreck bag. If they look this bag in pics, I always wonder, what do they smell like?

is this one listed yet? poor thing looks like she had a sun burn....

This stunning bag was carried less than five times and is still in very good condition. It was used in a boutique window display and has been exposed to sunlight. The lizard skin is lighter underneath the flap, under the straps and in several areas on the exterior, including the bottom. When closed, it has a lovely toasted almond hue with variations in the leather. Since this bag has been carried, you will notice some small signs of use including light scratches on the feet and hardware. There are no rips, tears, stains or odors. The interior is clean with a few small scuffs and indentations in the leather. Careful consideration was paid to the photos in this auction. Please see photos for greater details.

The exterior features glossy lizard skin with white stitching, gold hardware, tan leather interior, original
Hermès lock and original Hermès key. The bag ranges from beige in the lightest areas to goldenrod yellow in the darker tones. Overall, the bag will seem yellow. The interior is lined in beige leather and features one zippered pocket and two open pockets. The key has "012" engraved on it.

I didn't know there was one! I just do it manually.

Awwww...so sorry you missed out on your bag. But as you always tell me, the right one will find you when it's time.
