That shoulder strap is puzzling.

Is the shoulder strap a DIY job? And there is a big hole on the side. Nothing can fix that. Sorry but this belongs to rubbish bin.

Seller states the handle is not original. I thought it might be an early/vintage version of the mini Kelly, those bags have this type of strap. But the pieces that hold the strap look like the same pieces that fasten the handle to regular Kelly bags, just reversed. I don’t know ‍♀️.... Regardless, it’s in rough rough shape...

What do you think that HAC is actually worth realistically?

I’m no expert, and I’m sure there is one person who might pay that but I think it’s at least twice what the mainstream people would pay. Again, I’m no expert and that’s my opinion.

Sorry mods we’ve veered off topic, this is for train wrecks only not deep discussions on pricing but didn’t want to leave a question unanswered :) Back to topic...

Anyone interested in shabby sheik like the Olsen twins might find a bargain here. Me, I see a once lovely Rouge H Kelly that could have been saved if not left to degrade and dry out...

This one is almost identical to my only Hermes bag (but in slightly worse condition than mine tbh) I brought her for £200 at a vintage fashion sale about 18 years ago.
being Hermes crazy and only being able to afford SLG (Happy, CDC) and the odd scarf I was desperate to actually own a bag. my battered kelly is at least 100% authentic and though I dont really use her she still brings me joy as she is to my eyes a little old lady who's had hard times

She would’ve been gorgeous in her day, now, the neglect makes me sad... Listed for $999US. Could only be for display purposes...too much work (and cost) to make her functional if that’s even possible with the dry rot.

I always wonder what their stories are?
I mean they have never been inexpensive bags, Hermes has always been a luxury brand so I wonder how these poor souls got into this condition?
How did they end up unloved and uncared for? I have my mothers Gucci bags from the 70's and they are still in superb condition because she loved and cherished them.
I'll post some photos when I get the opportunity of my own train wreck Kelly.
I do wonder what happened to her and what her background is-
if only they could speak!

I agree, how would they get to this state? Seems like they are forgotten, maybe stored in an attic and not passed on to someone who would love them. I feel bad posting some of these but I look at these as a reminder to nourish and polish the little vintage ladies in my closet.

totally agree-its made me mindful to care for them like I do my own skin-us older ladies need regular maintenance!

Somebody please put this bag out of it's misery. It hurts just to look at it.

Holy smoke, $999 old planter! I clicked on the link and apparently I ”missed out on the item”. Ha!

I know that Hermes make assessments of bags sent for spa and then gives you the option of what work you want done. Nonetheless it seem strange that Hermes would agree to replace only the handle when the rest of the bag is in such a bad condition. It does look like an Hermes handle.
Good for them for honouring life-time service.
