This is with flash so as to accentuate the defects. Notice the bag is darker under where the straps would be and also under the flap. It is also gradient from dark to light to darker again as you get to the bottom of the bag.

This purse does not look like this in natural light, if it did I wouldn't use it! It looks mildly distressed. In most light you don't even look twice at the bag, it looks fine. Also of note, the back of the bag is near perfect, no color differentiation or scratching to speak of.

The leather is in really great shape. I had the hardware changed, the corners touched up and it was polished up at spa. I really love this bag to death and am not afraid to knock it around.

this is my inspiration... still on the look out! (sigh) Somewhere out there is my train wreck.:laugh: hope we find each other soon!

Vintage chic HERMES Jige/ Jije GM bag. Timeless, classic brown leather. The condition is good in my opinion. Creasing, cracking, scratches on the leather.

:laugh::laugh::laugh:

Looks like courchevel on my screen. Courchevel and Epsom are known as hardy leathers resistant to scratches but this kind of show being resistant to scratches can still lead to the opposite.:p She needs help. It's quite chic.

a couple 28's at not too bad prices, I like the green one ! Not sure if they qualify as "train wrecks" but they are old and could use some love !!!

yes they could both do with some love and a good home! Sadly at those [prices the home will most certainly not be mine. Id rather buy BRAND SPANKING NEW.The green one looks like a herd of elephants stepped over it - and something dreadful has happened to the handle of the red one...:laugh:

I had read here about repairs not matching the patina of the bag. Now I no longer have to wonder what that looks like. My favorite part of the description is how the corners are in good condition with a tiny bit of color loss. (shakes head) "Are you going to believe me or your lying eyes?"

The condition is amazing in my opinion. It has been carried, and is in good, preowned condition. The corners are in good condition and have minor scratches and a tiny bit of color loss. The handles a bit worn and discolored in some places. There are no major marks or scratches on the leather.

What about this one?

Not sure if rescue is the right term. Perhaps, reincarnation?

this requires a very SPECIFIC KIND OF FINESSE to pull off. Sadly I do not posses it - and I would feel ridiculous paying that kind of money to buy anything in that condition.

yes that is a PROPER TRAIN WRECK - I like it. A little overoptimistically priced I think and that tiny bit of colour loss - well if you are blind that's accurately described. I would describe it as 'heavily distressed' with a certain charm. Starting bidding at $100 to generate interest...;)
