Ta! :hugs: If everything fails, then I can still do the rig-a-rope thing and take is as an old-age investment, for when I'll be a demented old cat-lady raiding the wheelie-bins on the street - I'll have a great bag for the loot, right? :D

Hehehe! Hey, would Rig-A-Scarf work too? Knot each end of the scarf with an inexpensive scarf ring (since it wouldn't show anyway) and then you can change the strap to match every outfit!!

After going thru this thread, I hope mine won't end up looking like that 20-30 years down the road...looks like nothing last forever no matter how much u pay for it.

It can, ShopGirl, if you take care of it and love it. This thread is more a cautionary tale of "How Not To Treat Your Hermes..." But the fact that they survive even in these deplorable conditions (some of them) is still a testament to their quality. I was going to make a reference to no-bad-dogs, but I won't...:p

Thanks Brennamom and KellyH!:smile1: Sure I'll post pics as soon as it's here - or shall I do a 'reveal'? LOL I felt it was just 'calling my name', how embarrassing is that?! :D
Brennamom - sorry for not posting the link! A good friend of mine (on the other side of the globe) hunted it down for me.

Another wreck, looks pretty decent in comparison (pricier too!):

Gosh, if this poor bag looks this bad, one can only wonder what the poor wife must have looked like before she went to . . . paradise.

Friponne, did you do it? If you are thinking of having H do anything with it (new handle, etc) better make sure they will touch it with all the color/skin loss...$130 is a STEAL if H will help (and you'll need it! THAT won't be a cheap fix!). Let me know!!

Friponne, I had a handle replaced on my 28 BBK and it was 450 usd. I found some of these train wrecks strangely alluring - maybe it is that pic of the handle-less kelly with a scarf as a strap in the SS09 ? scarf catalog.
